Do your mix live in session view but record into the arrangement. Then you can tweak and refine it as you wish before rendering it out....

I'm on a mac here. Just for clarity, I can only drag audio clips directly to and from the finder. Midi clips don't work. If I drag them into Live's browser however a Live clip ( .alc) is created and I can then drag that clip from Live's browser into the finder.....but not directly

yeah ok....so you want to control the finger in reaktor fx and freeze the audio stream that results ?

the external instrument device is intended for routing midi to your external hardware and then routing the audio from that hardware back into an input.... let me put it another way.....what are you trying to achieve ? are you hoping to feed the mix through Reaktor FX and have a midi clip automating ...

can you explain your routing please ?
