Re: MIDI clock (slave) improvements in Live 8.2.4b1
For me what's important in syncing two computers is precisely to work well for tempo changes... If the tempo remains the same, i don't see the point of syncing the computers, unless for start/stop, which is usually doable by hand. Well, two computers (or any other sequencer devices) will always dri...

MIDI clock (slave) improvements in Live 8.2.4b1
Dear all, The latest Live 8 beta (8.2.4b1) introduces a new MIDI clock algorithm, which should improve Live's stability when running as a slave. This means that Live's tempo calculation and phase correction should be more precise than in older Live versions and you'll get less warping artifacts, whi...

Re: Interface Problem in Max 4 Live - No Button description :(
Looks like the Arial font isn't installed on your system. Max uses Arial as the default font and if Arial isn't installed, you won't see any labels.

Re: Live 8.2.2 won't launch on OSX 10.6.7
Do you have Celemony's "Melodyne" software installed? If so, this might be the culprit. Older versions of Melodyne will install a Rewire client which is incompatible with OS X 10.5 and 10.6, and thus crash all Rewire host applications on launch. Either update Melodyne to the latest version...

Re: user/library/caches/ableton/cache/decoding CAN I DELETE THIS
Yes, you can delete the contents of that folder. Alternatively you can click the 'cleanup' button for the decoding cache in Live's 'file folder' preferences pane. Note: If you open a Live set containing mp3 files (or any other compressed media files), then Live will decode the files again. You might...

Re: Ableton Live 6 on Snow Leopard 10.6
No, Live 6 is unfortunately not fully compatible with Snow Leopard. One known issue is that the 'complex' warp mode will cause crashes. If you can live without the complex mode, you could give it a go, but I'd rather recommend to either stay with the old OS or upgrade Live.
Best,

Re: iPad/Touchable with windows machine - does it work well?
I hear you. I'm in the same boat. It really is an Apple restriction, though. I was hoping that they lifted it with iOS 4.3 today, but apparently only for the iPhone 4. Having said that, you could still jailbreak your iPad to get an ethernet connection to work. As far as MIDI goes, sending ordinary M...

Re: iPad/Touchable with windows machine - does it work well?
Uhm...I guess so. I'm just confused to which exact API you are referring. The so called 'Live API' doesn't really care what you're using to access it. This could be OSC via wifi or cable, MIDI via any MIDI port or whatever else.

Re: iPad/Touchable with windows machine - does it work well?
Wait wait wait. There's 2 issues at play here. The most important is 'has Apple lifted the restrictions for accessing APIs via USB'? Hmmm....unless I'm confusing something, the whole dilemma doesn't have anything to do with (Live?) API access, but with the inability of iDevices to establish a netwo...

Re: iPad/Touchable with windows machine - does it work well?
I've reread that several times and I still don't get what a personal hotspot has to do with any of it. Well, the new 'personal hotspots' feature allows to create a direct network connection between the iPhone and the computer over a USB cable. Afaik this wasn't possible so far (without jailbreaking...
