No problems recording full bands here.
Live is perfectly capable of banning audio to hd.
I prefer to turn the grid off when editing.

Hi,
I´d probably go with an 808 Kick.
Assign three knobs for attack, pitch and decay and you should be fine, and flexible.
For a deepish sound you´ll need some bass-power, though. You should think of bringing a subwoofer...

Finally I managed to get my hands on it, sorry for the delay. Impressions here are quite good. Tested on macbook pro OSX 10.6.8 The overall build quality is good, solid metal case, good knobs. Downside: the switches are a little bit stiff (imo). Driver installation was flawless -> plug & play Lo...
