Re: Detroit/Deep Techno/House : Melodic Part
i honestly didnt hear to many melodies in the songs you posted. i think you may be misunderstanding melody. there are motifs, but theres not alot of chords to support so theres not a strong melody. trance is a more melodic music, pop is very melodic(as in its the part you hum after the song quit pla...

Re: Dj'ing with Ableton....
Looping on the fly in Ableton is quite easy. Underneath the "Loop" button is something called position with a button called set. If you click on that whilst the track is playing it will set the loop point. You can then enter the length manually or hit the length set button whilst the trac...

Re: Dj'ing with Ableton....
i started djing with live, but its just too much trouble and isnt spontaneous at all. Im a club dj(as in my job) and i dont play "shows" of my own stuff. i play to the crowd and play for about 3-4 hours at a time and simply cant warp 10000 f'in songs. and ableton doesnt like big sets, afte...

Re: ..:: Wired Roots ::.. Downtempo Hardware Live PA.
 i dont really know what to say, but the sound itself is terrible. the sounds are weak like an 80s rompler and generally are not interesting in the least. I hate to post something like that, and im not sure if you are even wanting advice, but there it is. Musically, its somewhat lacking, but s...

Re: Novation Twitch
some features are interesting, but there are way better dj-controllers (both for controllerism and djing) out there... the NI S4 controller, Reloop Jockey 3, Dj-Tech Hybrid 303... BUT... those are mainly thought for Traktor... I've never used The Bridge, and this could be a good controller for it, ...

I mean sorry to say this, and i have no idea until you post and id love to be proven wrong, but i have a feeling, but my feeling is that either your music sucks something fierce( somewhat unlikely) or you just keep fucking everything up and going to the wrong venues(likely). bad/ok music + wrong ven...

Re: Question for Ableton DJ's: How to keep crowds interested?
Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm 150% ready to play a gig. Musically, it's my main goal right now. I have fast track pro external soundcard but talking with other artists, if I'm not cueing in headphones, I'm told I don't need a soundcard for a live gig. I guess the one thing I realized is every...

Re: How are Sends and Returns supposed to be used?
They are mainly for reverb and delay type effects, where you want to hear the original but then you want a tail on the end of some sort. for instance, you make a reverb(which is your "room") and then you send the drums, lead, vocals, and a little hipassed bass to make them all sound like t...

Re: Holy...Focusrite VRM Box
and what the hell does this have to do with the laws of physics? why wouldn't there be "real low end"? and why couldn't there be "real room resonances or dynamic distortion"? headphones cant reproduce bass accurately, its a fact. i really doubt a little box can make your headpho...
