umm? i think knowing what your supposed to do is pretty important.
singing in random keys until it sounds right is probably not to best way to work.

Re: Would I need a turntable for anything other than scratching?
Vinyls are favored because they (potentially) deliver better audio quality than regular CDs, especially in lower frequencies which are all-important in electronic music. Sorry but this is BS. Vinyl has trouble with low frequencies, that's why the RIAA equalization curve was developed. To get plenty...

Re: Tracktor S4 or Ableton Live + Serato + bridge ?
All right, so I haven another question : what about using tracktor pro with timecode with CDj and a regular mixer. Cause when you DJ in a club, there is the CDj and the mixer already. I've never tried this solution (the timecode stuff). How does it feel, isn't it better to have 2 real CDj and a mix...

Re: Mastering Services Available
My 2 harsh cents: lame. Esp. the time which could be invested to mimick anothers signature yet fixing the website seems to be of a much lower priority. only a -6db peak ? Don't you guys prepare before setting up a website? (yes, tonight is my rant evening) my 2 harsher cents: learn to read

Re: I Bought A 27" iMac - Live Questions
Hey Guys, my Dell desktop died over the weekend so I bit the bullet and bought a 27" iMac for 2 grand (2.8 i5; 4gb ram) How to transition all my clips and projects? Can I simply move them over and put them in the appropriate place in the new library? Any MAC/PC issues to be had when doing this...

Re: Preperation vs. Freestyle
this is why i think live isnt the best DJing tool, it takes SO MUCH preparation! I DJ as a job, and i play out alot with many different crowds and venues, so i cant possibly prepare 10000 songs for live. i use serato and i can DL a song through it in there and its ready to rock. i guess, if youre pl...

Re: Best way to remix a song.
When remixing I usually start with an acapella. http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk has got a lot of material. The quality varies by song. I warp the acapella and the original stereo master to match the new tempo and groove and then start layering on new sounds. Sometimes I borrow from the stereo master b...

Re: Replicating Analog Oscillator Drift & Temperature Change
osc drift isnt going to make something not analog sound analog, also, there is a drift setting in analog, but it doesnt make it sound more analog. the drift is nothing more than a tiny bit of a cent of a semitone, i dont think its gonna make or break your sound. IMO the most important part of an ana...
