Re: "Live Machine Mix" with Ableton, Monomachine, Machinedrum

Thanks for the compliments! All the material is original stuff we wrote and will be on our first artist album. "Bolivian Bump" is a track we came up with one morning when we were having trouble finishing up a different track. Diana said "I need a bump" and from that line we worke...

@ sounds If this is for DJ/Performance use, avoid the Novation. We have a variety of midi controllers at our studio and we dumped the Novations for the UC 33e for performance use (however the Novations are great for studio work). The endless encoders are low quality on the Novations and you can do c...

No. That is a shit opinion. Sorry, its just so trite. I've seen it over and over again and quite frankly it is just so fucking tiring. The bitter musician pissed off because the dj is "stealing" their lime light. "Oh I hate fucking dj's, why do they get all the attention they just pl...

the GUI shall not be touched! This should be the First Commandment of Ableton....Burned onto a giant, solid silicon slab by Robert Henke himself as part of some strange ritual involving Gerhard Behles, the cloaked and hooded engineers of Ableton, and a flaming Monodeck at the Watergate club in Berl...

4) There is a romantic cultural notion of a bunch of more or less normal people getting together in a garage and starting a band, or the single Dylanesque singer songwriter grappling with his/her mode of expression, and then moving on to become profound and popular. This is a farily sacred romantic...

However if you are serious about getting into production then FW is the way to go. disagree. how can you support your claim? either is fine. By serious I meant that if you are recording and need a more robust interconnect and/or need to send out multiple streams of audio (more than 3 or 4 stereo ou...

Firewire is a much more robust protocol that was especially designed for transmission of audio and video data. If your only playing back audio with a just a few tracks you can get away with a USB interface. However if you are serious about getting into production then FW is the way to go. BTW: Firew...

Re: Major Sync Problems in 7.012

I've noted some really wild tempo fluctuations with Live in Slave mode with this release that did not happen in 7.010. ... Switching both machines back to 7.010 stabilised and solved the problems. It may be hard to believe but that happens because .12 solved a bug with Live's Sync Slave behavior. B...

I can't believe how such an essential requirement is sooooooo ignored and buried under the many "give us a XXXXX plug in" or "will Live 8 make toast?".

We need rock solid, industry leading synching and midi timing for Live!!!
