Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
Another update: I just purchased MIDI Pads in the App Store for $4.99. Although it is not customizable enough for me as far as layout and object sizing, it has some of my requested features. Drum pads and faders support release messages, drum pads also act as X/Y with CCs, and faders support a "...

Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
Just to update... The Multislider object in the Lemur can snap back to a default value with physics enabled. Awesome function for the way I want to control FX Racks. No scripting or fancy expressions needed. It only took me 4 days to figure this out. The manual doesn't break things down quite simply...

Re: Touchable vs Lemur on the iPad
I bought Lemur a few days ago, and finding that there is a big learning curve to programming if you want to do anything advanced. I don't want to use anything preconfigured, so Lemur seemed perfect. Not sure if I can wrap my head around using the scripting and expressions in the Lemur app.

As little as I post, I am in here daily. I suffer from thread-start anxiety, fearing judgement and RTFM comments.
I lurk and await the next "Famous people that use the APCxx" thread.

Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
That sounds awesome (perhaps too ambitious for Ableton at the moment), but I'd settle for a nice control surface with some unique performance tools.

Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
Touchable looks really good, but looking for something more customizable. I have a feeling I will try Lemur, get frustrated with it's complexity, and end up just using TouchOSC.

Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
That is what I have setup now, which is nice, but would prefer to streamline into more Kaoss Pad-like functionality. I have a feeling I will be dropping $50 for the Lemur app before the night is over. Not sure how much scripting I can handle, though. Perhaps Live 9 will be shipping with a dedicated ...

Re: Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
After doing some research both can absolutely be done with the Lemur app through scripting. I just have to get a computer science degree to figure it out. At first I thought the "z" variable might work on TouchOSC, but I couldn't get it working. The app's activity light shows a message bei...

Question to iPad users (Re: Momentary)
I just picked up an iPad an start messing around with TouchOSC. Before investing in other apps, I wanted to throw out a question for those with more experience. Can I create a fader that snaps back to a default value when released? I typically create racks that have a dry signal in the lowest chain ...

Re: how do i get natrual sounding " shakers"
If natural is your goal, buy a cheap egg shaker and record it. Those organic elements can breathe life into sequenced drum parts.

Re: Mainstage with Ableton - First Thoughts
wouldn't this cause a lot of latency? you have the midi latency + 2 conversions of the same signl. Surprisingly it wasn't much of an issue. I was able to get buffer sizes low enough (64 in each app, if I recall correctly). And I didn't even think to try FW bussing as mentioned previously. I also ha...

Re: Mainstage with Ableton - First Thoughts
I have used MS and Live pretty extensively on stage. Soundflower will work for getting audio into Live, but I am wearing of linking the two programs using a freeware utility. Instead, I patch 2 outputs directly into inputs on my audio interface. I set up tons of keyboard patches in MS, set up a trac...

Re: Hanz' Script and Bomes... APC40 Momentary Switch? (Solved)
 Update to anyone seeking this answer... I created a MIDI track in Live to receive the scripted MIDI messages (APC40_22 selected as input), then routed it to the IAC driver. All the note modes in Hanz' script are on different MIDI channels, that do not interfere with the APC40's default mappin...
