I've never received so many replies!!! ok, next question. Is there anyplace or one with a copy of live 5 they would be willing to sell? I am not ready for live 8 on my g4 and I think live 8 would blow his mind. he has recently discovered garage band, but wants more.

My partner is getting back into recording and I am trying to steer him toward live. I am on 5 w/ a g4 and he has a new macbook. I am reluctant to buy live 8 with my g4 but would consider upgrading my machine if my partner enjoys live (and I know he will) then we could both get up to speed with live ...

Thanks, Maybe I'll just order it. If need be, I'll buy that new mac I've been putting off. Live is the reason I bought my first (and only) computer, so this may be a stepping stone.......

powerbook 1.67 w/ 2 gig ram. Do I have a chance in hell of running 8 on this machine? Is there any chance that downloading the demo would mess up what I've already got going (live 5 working perfectly)?

Thanks ClearScreen. It's really an ASR-X thing, as this machine doesn't allow me to turn it's count in off. So regardless of what I set the count in to on Live, the X waits until the LIve starts recording,then comes in with it's own count in of which can only be set to 1 bar or greater. Any work aro...

The X does not allow me to turn off the count in, so it always comes in a bar too late when it is the slave to Live. Anything similar happen to anyone that would help me out? thanks
