Re: MOTU Track 16- isnt it the best design to date?
Wonder what kind of latencies it'll be capable of. I'm routing my vocals via Live live, and at the moment I can go safely down to 109 samples (converts into approx 7ms) roundtrip on my RME multiface II with moderate set load, and I'm expecting my new interface to be at least as capable. How have the...

Re: Synthtopia best daw poll
Hopefully Ableton Live will win. Otherwise I have to purchase a new daw and at the moment I'm broke.

Been saying it for years now: Ableton shoots themselves in the leg with such default settings.

Re: Embaressing "mono" question
The original mono sample is mono no matter how you pan it in the project you're working on. In case you want to bounce your mono drum sample and still keep it's panning position, you have to bounce it in stereo, which makes the outcome...well stereo. Ok thanks... so with the advice i follow that &q...

Re: Stereo to Mono
Im trying to change my kicks and snares to Mono like you're supposed to! I have no returns running back to stereo. Not fimiliar with this function in ableton compared to the other daw's. I read that all tracks in ableton are in stereo by default if im not correct.. I'm pretty confident your kicks a...

I play my tracks from CD. On stage I have a bunch of fax-machines, a blender and few PS2 consoles. All mic'ed with SM57's.

Re: Best microphone for recording vocals
Edit: The thing is: SM58 is a safer bet in case you have no clue what you're doing. Especially if the room sounds shit, it's way less horrible choice than any large capsule condenser you find.
Björk uses it as well.
Björk uses it as well.

Re: Best microphone for recording vocals
For christ sake: if he has to ask I assume he doesn't know anything about room treatment and therefore it is best to go with SM58 or some other similar dynamic microphone. Large capsules tend to sound just horrible when recording in a untreated room.

I have 2 of them - work perfectly on my Mac. I know this doesn't help you, but don't give up; pK is the best pads available imo.

Had one of those. Loved it. Sold it. Ableton still reigns. Too pricey for the gimmicks imo.Tarekith wrote:Finally got some time to write my review on the Elektron Octatrack:

Why not just make a MIDI clip containing few notes and let it loop while tweaking?
