Re: Mashed potatoes? Why do you hate mashed potatoes?
lol, no no, You're still in the club. I was attempting to be funny. I have a weird sense of humor I guess. Spotify seems to be picking up steam here in the States, although many people have had to wait a week or more to get in. Personally, I don't see the appeal. I suppose I'd check it out if it wer...

Re: Launchpad connected (offline) while using the automap w live
Don't mean to hijack the thread, though it looks like the issue was solved. I'm really just curious how automap works with the Launchpad. Does it automap buttons to parameters in Live? Or...?

Re: What does APC40 record quantization button do?
Record quantization is in Live's preferences I believe. It might even be in a drop down menu. The button on the APC-40 toggles it on and off, but since it's not on Live's GUI, it doesn't look like it's doing anything. What record quantization does is quantize incoming notes as you record them.

Maybe I'm reading into it the wrong way. Isn't this who they're marketing to?
Nah, this is one of the Vice Presidents of the company. Straight from the streets he is not.

Re: so the Beat thang is actually at my local bestbuy
Like I've said, I have tech 1200's, so I know how to play them. And now that I'm reading my points over, I see where it gets confusing. I guess it comes down to, using a conventional instrument and creating something unique yourself, versus using turntables and sampling other peoples works. Because...

Re: so the Beat thang is actually at my local bestbuy
I'm not bashing turntables, and I apologize if it came off that way. I have 1200's myself. Love them. I just personally don't consider them to be a musical instrument. I see them as a tool to play other peoples music on, and given the right skillset, manipulate that music......musically. <-- if tha...

Re: so the Beat thang is actually at my local bestbuy
Instrument is synonymous with tool. Doctors call their scalpels instruments, but you don't see them jamming out with them. That being said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meR-7S9NLgc I was trying to find one that I saw a while ago, where the DJ was playing a flute solo on Technics, but this still pr...

Re: Propellerhead Reason 6 announced!
In regards to Reason, the only thing I've truly been impressed by is the NNXT's pitch detection. It hasn't worked for me. Neither sampler will load 32 bit files either. They have the worst integrated samplers out there. 32 bit files? How much storage do you have? I've never even come across a 32 bi...

Re: Propellerhead Reason 6 announced!
Sure, the sequencer can be detached to give you a minimal amount of extra real estate, but for large sessions, scrolling is still a pain.starving student wrote:why does everyone talk about reasons scrolling, isn't the sequencer detachable these days or is it that even so you still need to scroll allot?

Re: Mashed potatoes? Why do you hate mashed potatoes?
Firstly, which kit are you referring to?
Secondly, Spotify... was checking it out and:
"Spotify is so good" - Mark Zuckerberg
"Spotify is genius!" - Demi Moore @mrskutcher
Seems legit.

Re: Propellerhead Reason 6 announced!
lol, DJing with Pro Tools is actually possible now that it has time stretching. You'd have to get creative with dragging and dropping tracks you wanted to mix together, but it is possible. Quite honestly, it's a very short leap from doing that to Djing with Live. Really, the only difference is you c...

Re: rendering songs with frozen tracks.
If you're worried about losing audio quality from freezing, unfreeze and re-sample your track to a new audio track, then render with the new audio, unfrozen. This is basically what freezing does under the hood anyway, but freezing is typically less time consuming. If you're not worried about it, don...

Re: beat repeat
How can I repeat the last 1/4 bar of every bar? Answered. I get it but that won't repeat the last 1/4 of the first bar. With the settings I listed, the repeat will occur every bar, as you originally wanted. I assumed you were just going to leave the repeat on, since you said you wanted it on every ...

Re: beat repeat
Okay, here it is: Interval - 1 Bar Offset - 12/16 Gate - 4/16 Grid - 1/6 or smaller. If you go larger than 1/6 you won't get the repeat, unless you also crank up the variation. Chance - 100% if you want it to happen all of the time. Drop it down if you want it to happen less often. Hope this helps.
