Yes, this does indeed suck. I don't know how to completely eliminate the lag so that it responds like Live 4, however, switching the sample to RAM mode improves results dramatically. Give it a shot. I think you should look at this as how much data has been discarded. From my experience, a 192kbps MP4 is superior to a 192kbps MP3. With a 320kbps MP3 however, vs a 192kbps MP4, MP3 wins hands down.
