Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL
I have the feeling that the more tracks I add to one of my projects (incl. 3rd party plug ins like compressors) the untighter the track becomes. I am currently heavily considering switching to logic 9 ( I am on a mac). Is logic the tighter daw? Thanks for your guys' input!

Fat Pads (juno style) in software
still tinkering with the idea to buy the live suite - I am in particular looking for a software synth that can deliver the lush, fat pads juno60 style. I guess analog or operator can do that quite well, no? or would you people go with something like the goldbaby sample pack?

Cooperation between Live8 and Live Suite8
I am thinking about buying the live Suite, mainly because of operator and sampler (I will buy the edu version). I have a question - my coop-partner will also working with live, but he will be using "naked" live 8 - no suite! If I render all the suite instruments midi tracks to audio and de...

Re: Getting the wonky on - Jazzy Fly Lo style
Don't know Fly Lo actually (well, now I do), but I like the nervousness of your tune, be sure to keep it that way. I'd add a part with mind-dazzling plainness though. Something unexpectedly simple in the middle of all the unexpectedness, so it opens up to the listener at a point where they've alrea...

Listened to it... its cool and its groovy and funky. Just because its not as straight of a beat as this http://osmotic.peterdidit.com/Soulive.mov does not mean it aint funky. I like it.

Since I never had the cash, I'm using a 122 Tascam myself - its alright, the line ins tend to be muddy, especially in the bass range and bit muffled in the highs, but for the money its an okay deal I guess. IF you have enough cash I strongly recommend metric halo interfaces (there are only two diffe...

Re: Motu Traveler is HOTTT!!!!
I just used my new motu traveler to multitrack a live show I did with a band backing me up. 8 tracks were recorded simultaneously without a problem, and the firewire cuemix console made setting levels a breeze!! I'm really into bus powered gear these days, and I would recommend this audio interface...

Parliament Funkadelic did this YEARS ago. I feel that funk needs to move on to ????????????????????????????????????????? By the way, not dissing....just giving an honest opinion. I love funk but find it has become stagnant. I can't comment on Parliament, haven't checked them out - whats definetly d...

Some tightass hiphopfunk shit!
Alright, alright, This link goes to a short live video of a band called Soulive, which has been a major influence on me for two or more years - the boys are releasing a new album in midsummer and its grooving hard - here you can see them in action - tight as shit - and watch that Fro bouncing at the...
