thats pretty clever! The question under the article re. 2 keyboards is a good one though. Will Live treat both keyboards the same, or will one remain a normal keyboard? on mac you can use 2 kbds seperately... that means twice as much keys to map! on pc windows will treat it as 1 kbd :( (don't know ...

This is pretty dorky, but I can't wait for Windows Home Server to come out (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070108-8573.html).

Basically, it's a PC that will monitor all computers on the network, doing incremental backups as necessary. It can also be a media server.

Thanks for the comic relief guys - I'm going to email this thread to my fiance.

:)

Apologies to anyone who received the newsletter more than once - did you receive it on separate email accounts, or multiple times to the same address?

Your main issue is going to be latency. I would make sure to use a high-end sound card to limit the inevitable delay between the affected sources and the "live" sources.

hrm. Unless you're willing to put your clips into a rack of sampler players, I can't think of a way to do this natively in Live. You'd have to employ a piece of third-party MIDI editing software to translate your one MIDI knob movement to send a series of crossfade-like MIDI messages to each track's...

I suppose she could be using autotune. plenty of people do these days. If it allows her to stretch her voice further, with confidance, than she normally could then it's all good, imho. I doubt she's using autotune in that youtube clip above. She's running into an Electrix Repeater there, a hardware...

I don't know much about this topic, but reports on another forum indicate that DMX>MIDI conversion introduces unacceptable latency.

keep in mind the fader caps though - they're indented, so you can't really 'pinch' them to flick them up and down.

Conan O'Brien fans: Max Weinberg 7 Keyboardist talking Live

I dunno how many other Conan fans are on this board, but some of you may find this interesting: http://keyboardmag.tv/index.html?req=1&station=shealy&video=kbtv/interviews/kbtv_e07_shableton That's Scott Healy, Keyboardist of the Max Weinberg 7, talking about how he uses Live, and why he lik...

I think it's up to discussion what exactly the UC-33 is. I would argue it's more of a pared down studio-oriented control surface, not a DJ control surface. In terms of DJ-specific control surfaces, the handful of MIDI controls on the Allen & Heath Xone 92 are probably some of the first applicati...
