Re: Leeds Uk Live users? West Yorkshire users?

I've been thinking of upgrading to 8 for a while now (I'm on 7 at the moment). I'm a bit put off though about the stability issues some people have raised on these forums. Have you had any problems with it?

Re: ableton 7 ?

We're keeping it down as much as possible, but the pram and the cot we need to buy unfortunately. Never mind.

Sorry - this is supposed to be an Ableton forum!

Re: ableton 7 ?

You can buy Ableton very cheap now from eBay. I bought 7 with Operator, Drum Racks, Analog, Electric, Sampler and Tension for about £170. I am looking to upgrade to Suite 8 which will cost me £150 for download only, or £220 for the box. Doing it this way has therefore saved me around £200 which is v...

Re: SL MK II keyboard

The electribes are excellent. A friend of mine used to have the MX and SX which made up the totality of his live act! I nearly got one, but decided on a Maschine instead. Together with the Mk2, it has really changed how I make music.

Re: Set Default Volume Level in Live 7

Bugger. Thanks anyway - didn't know the trick with the volume bar. Can't afford v8 just yet, but this would be a useful feature to have anyway. Ableton 9?

Re: SL MK II keyboard

Hmmmm....I'm obviously in the minority here. I bought a MkII a couple on months ago now and think it's great! I don't find the 'feel' of anything about it as cheap, but instead an all round well-built, sturdy keyboard and controller. The way it simply jumps to each different parameter or plug-in in ...

Set Default Volume Level in Live 7

Hi everyone, Is there a way to change the default volume level in Live? I would like to set all new tracks at a default level of -12Db if possible. I realise that I could just make a new template which has lots of audio and midi tracks all configured like this, but I would like any new tracks that a...

Re: mastering help.

I don't pretend to be an expert on this at all, but the recent Music Tech 'Mastering Special' magazine was quite good at explaining the basic principles behind mastering in an accessible language. It goes through techniques for mastering in each major DAW - Ableton, Reason, Logic and Cubase. I'm sur...

Re: Leeds Uk Live users? West Yorkshire users?

Yeah - I think I know where you are in Lofthouse. I managed to get a cheap copy of Live 7 a while back with aload of the instruments bundled with it. I'd like to upgrade to 8 but times are tight! Do you write or DJ or both? What kind of music?

Apperley Bridge, just near Rawdon. Where are you? What version of Ableton are you using?

Yep - one here. Doesn't look like there is much of a following round here, eh?

Pattern Changes in NI's Maschine and Scene Changes in Live 7

Hi everyone, After several months of negotiating some shrewd sales on eBay, I managed to save enough for a Native Instruments Maschine. It is fantastic by the way - the most fun I've had for a long time making music! I was wondering if anyone who might have one could help. Obviously, you can use the...

Re: ableton 8 & maschine tip!!

hi i already posted this in the ni forum.... i bought maschine as a controller for my liveact....and realised that the scenes are limited to round about 80 scenes. also the switching between the scene and the clips page was a pain in the ass..... to solve this: just group all tracks for the liveset...

Re: Sonic Academy worth the price of admission?

Definitely. I'm the tightest sod around and I thought long and hard about joining. I have watched a few of their tutorials now and have already completely changed the way I approach music. The biggest hurdle is that a lot of the tutorials use Sylenth, a plug in instrument that costs around £130. But...
