TouchAble Problems - can anyone help?
Hi everyone, Sorry to post this here but I've tried the TouchAble forums directly and they seem like a bit of a graveyard for replies... I've just bought TouchAble for the iPad and for the most part am really impressed with it. I've just got two questions: 1. The EQ8 template running in Ableton 9 Be...

Re: Live or Suite?
I think you would be better to download the demo of Suite and see if it has everything you are looking for (the demo works for a month I think). I personally like the included instruments and sounds, but often turn to third party plugs as well. Hope that helps.

Re: Lemur: How to get lemur to reflect ableton's current state
I'm not quite sure but would like to know the answer to this. I'm trying to learn Lemur and would love to know how you solve the problem. My closest bet would be through Max for Live, and the Mu template springs to mind. Is there any way you can open this up and take a look inside? Otherwise Liine a...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
Yes - I thought as much. I've a feeling I am going to go the 'standard' upgrade route when the time comes. It all depends, of course, on the discount Ableton offer on release.

Re: Live 9 Pricing
One thing I'm unsure of is the upgrade to Max 6. I currently own Suite+M4L, but recently bought the cross grade to Max 6 standalone. If I upgrade to Live standard at €129, then I retain my M4L licence. The only reason I would pay to upgrade my M4L license is to have Max 6. Since I already own Max 6 ...

Re: Cthulhu VST
The other way to get looser chords is print the MIDI pattern from Cthulu to a Live clip, then apply any groove pattern you like to it. Remove all the groove values to 0%, then increase the Random value up to taste. When you are happy with it, apply the groove. If you combine this with a Velocity MID...

Re: Cthulhu VST
No problem! I only found out from a post on the Xfer forums. I think Steve forgot to put it in the manual!

Re: Reaktor not Displaying properly in Live
Hi guys, has anyone else had this problem? When I try to use Reaktor as a plug in, the Reaktor window that comes up is too small, and so you can't see all the knobs, for example, on Razor or The Mouth. I've tried changing view to as large as possible and scrolling from left to right at the bottom o...

Re: Cthulhu VST
Yes - bought it immediately and love it. Think of it like the Schwartenator on steroids. Xfer Records plugs are outstanding and the support is second to none. Like all of Steve Duda's products, its got amazing depth and quality - the more you use it the more you realise how much there is to it. At t...

Re: If you use a Drum Machine, which one is it?!
I'm quite surprised to see no-one has mentioned Xfer Record's Nerve - it comes with a free iPad template surface (via Lemur or TouchOSC) that basically turns it into a hands on controller. The developer is still one of the best I know of for direct customer support and updates and the depth of contr...

Re: Max for Live Manual
Try something like "Electronic Music and Sound Design". This is a wonderful book that teaches you Max coupled with the theory that goes behind it. I'm afraid I've tried the electronic tutorials included with Max and they didn't work for me - the info just didn't stick. This is nothing to d...

Re: FM8 Tutorials
metaphysical funtion :( Metaphysical function is a Reaktor ensemble so it wouldn't make sense for it to go on the FM8 site. BUT there is a great Metaphysical Function tutorial as part of the MPV Course 'NI Komplete Tricks and Tricks' below: http://poweredby.nonlineareducating.com/nativeinstruments3...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
Nice thread!
In the piano roll editor, when inputting notes with the mouse by double clicking, keep your mouse button held down on the second click. Now if you drag your mouse up and down you can alter the velocity of the note you have just created.
