Poll Feature for Forum
This is a Wish item for the forum. I think that it would be very informative to many people if we had ability to set up polls of various kinds so that interested parties could quickly assess how strongly Ableton users feel about a certain question. For Feature Wish List, a simple poll could tell how...

Recording with MPK61 vs Push
I never really used the transport controls until I got a Push. With the Push, when you press record, it records a new clip in whatever track you happen to be in. With the MPK61, the record button launches the main record button that sends the recorded information to the arrangement view, rather than...

Re: Windows Woes
Thanks for the input!
All things considered, I will probably just limp along for a week or two. Let Win 10 hit the market and then determine if I want to go with 8 or 10.

Windows Woes
For some reason, my Windows 7 64 Bit system has never worked quite like it should -- certain VSTs never install right and this problem persists even if I format my hard drive and install everything fresh. I believe that my install disk has some minor glitch. This brings me to the next topic. I under...

Korg Taktile 49
Has anyone tried out the Korg Taktile 49?
Does the scale function set up the keys so that they all play in the chosen scale? Or is the scale function limited to the chord pads?

Re: Thoughts on Ableton & Cubase
Thanks Martin, I have recently started testing Studio One Demo and it is very nice indeed! I have not tried Bitwig, but I am intrigued by that package. I will probably start taking Piano/Keyboard lessons soon, ... in the meantime, I have found a couple of other tools not listed in this thread that a...

mpk249 or launchkey 49
I have an old Akai MPK61 but have found the drum pads to be less effective than what I would prefer. One feature that I would like would be the ability to assign Macro Functions to some of the pads -- specifically, I would like to be able to both select a given track and record arm it by pressing a ...

Re: Thoughts on Ableton & Cubase
Have not had opportunity to try transferring MIDI via rewire -- the 'literature' I had read had claimed that this was not possible. I will try that when I get home. Still do not like the limitations imposed in Ableton by rewire. Something to play around with, though. I get your point also about micr...

Thoughts on Ableton & Cubase
I have always been loyal to Ableton, but there have been a few pain points that have caused me to stray. First are timing issues. When recording directly from session view to arrangement view via the standard record button method, I run into problems. Say I have a 2 bar four on the floor and an 8 ba...

Re: Send/Receive MIDI
I will try rewire.
Use Cubase as my Synthsizer tool and Ableton for everything else.
Thanks!

Send/Receive MIDI
I am trying to take advantage of the MIDI sequencer for keyboards that Ableton provides via Push and play that MIDI info directly into Cubase so that I can take advantage of their chord pads (each MIDI note from controller keys off a chord and different chords can be set for each MIDI Note). Right n...

Re: How can I trick out timing?
Ok, I have got it half working :s. I have a 16 bar bassline that I would like to loop independently of the global clock. I can get either get it all to loop according to the global clock or get every scene to launch from the beginning. I 'think' I can fix this once I have recorded into arrangement v...

Re: Math Coding for M4L
Excellent! I do have quite the the learning curve ahead of me. I am envisioning what I call VSTs, but I may not be using the appropriate definition. I am envisioning a fully featured software program that has 'modules' that can be placed on individual tracks in Ableton. They would use M4L as a conve...
