Compressor with custom, drawable release curve?

I love the ability to draw a custom curve using Xfer Records LFOTool plugin but the problem is that it pumps according to the rhythm rather than to a side-chain source. Conversely, there are many compressors that allow you to use a side-chain input but you're stuck with the characteristics of that p...

Re: endless clicking/crackling problems with Live 9?

This is a long shot but try switching your system sound (in System Preferences) to use something else besides your sound card , so that the *only* thing using your soundcard is Live. For whatever reason this eliminates a lot of the random crackles I get in Live. It's annoying to switch all the time ...

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

Dsp is a waste of money, better dump that money in to the cpu. Dang. Is it? I mean, as I said earlier, I'm planning to get the brand new 2.7GHz 12-core Mac Pro but I'm dubious that that will be enough. I already have a fairly beefy Mac Pro (2 x 2.26 Quad-Core Intel Xeon) and I max that sucker out i...

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

If you're serious about having the best latency you should reconsider your choice of sound card. RME is the best in those regards. Seems like you're planning on getting external dsp card anyways would just be overlap. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm curious: while the RME may have lower latency ...

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

...For personal EDM production it all sounds like overkill, but if setting up a semi commercial studio, then it seems an odd post - such people usually have half an idea of what they want/need etc based upon existing gear, existing production preferences etc. First of all, I just want to thank ever...

What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

Greetings, I'm in the market for a new computer and sound card for Ableton Live. I want the best possible setup, with a priority on low latency , high track count , high plugin count , 96/24 recording . Money is no object. This is for a pro studio installation. I'd like a studio-quality rig like my ...

Here's a video of how BitWig is doing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy-8u6EAt-I

Isn't that awesome? Having something like that in Live would be so legit. 8)
