Re: New look Ableton website.
However in conjunction with the pricing affair and the way it was handled I did experience a loss of confidence in Ableton. One which I must add I very much hope is misplaced. Thankfully for us all, Ableton is a music software company and not a marketing company :) Ableton's main product is Live, n...

Re: New look Ableton website.
FWIW I liked the general design of the new site when I saw it. I thought the large blocks of colour looked terrible though - very amateurish. I couldn't believe it! I felt similarly about the (former) new look of the forum. I don't consider myself an expert but I know what I like. I didn't dwell on ...

Re: Ableton Push QA
Will it be possible to use another controller in conjunction with push eg one with bigger pads for tapping out beats? I can't remember seeing the pitch bend strip thingy used in the video. Is that because it's not ready yet!? Will we be able to bend the capabilities of push using M4L. Can we send st...

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
I spent quite alot of time playing with this stuff and I ended up with something workable for my needs though I eventually ditched Ms Pinky for a couple of dj hero controllers. (It was for an installation and I thought needles were too fragile). There's a load of posts on the max forum about overdub...

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
And are you sure you are not trying to scratch part of the buffer that hasn't been recorded yet? e.g if you start recording for 8 bars then start scratching after 1 bar, if you scratch towards the end of the buffer it won't have recorded yet. In fact the way you have it set up, the loop point of the...

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
Can you not workaround this?
By offsetting playback or (record position if using index/poke).
Perhaps delaying the record off signal if necessary.

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
Changes the loop? how? I've experienced odd behaviour using multiple buffers where I felt occasionally m4l was recording into/playing the wrong one but I've never managed to isolate it and be certain. Could well have been patching error. Or perhaps there is some issue. Does this behaviour happen all...

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
Well I think you can share a named buffer across tracks yes. So if you are recording your loop into a buffer on one track you should be able to control it via Pinky on another track. Alternatively in the past I used live.remote to send the velocity values from one track to another but I think the pr...

Re: Ms Pinky & Live looping to spinning decks...looking for help
I might be able to help you to get the Pinky object to work with the groove~ object.
I just connected the velocity out (third output) from the Pinky object to the first input of the Groove object?
Or does the problem lie somewhere else?

Can anyone explain my latency and miditrack arming weirdness
I have a live set which contains 4 midi tracks each with a string of MaxforLive devices which generate sounds from 4 wiimotes (via osculator). There is one device in each track which takes the osc data and processes it, converting it to midi notes which are passed to nested drum racks/instrument eff...

Re: Ms Pinky etc...
Yeah, ill do that.....one day! EDIT***Have done it Today!*** One thing I have been playing about with (as a result of this thread) is warping the pinky cd control mp3 in repitch mode. Havent tested alot but it seems to work at least within certain tempo boundaries. This could enable some cool stuff ...

Re: Ms Pinky etc...
No actually you are right I did share the external
I froze the device before sharing it and this bundles all dependent max stuff together.
FWIW I deleted the link.

Re: Ms Pinky etc...
I'm pretty sure that the only reason my patch worked for you was because you already had the pinky objects installed. If you hadn't then Max would not have found the pinky external - I didn't share it!, only the placeholder which Max may (in your case) or may not (if you don't have the Pinky externa...
