Virtual Instruments sent to outboard gear
I was reading a thread discussing Thom Yorke's The Eraser album and someone mentioned that they felt like the album sounded as though it had used a lot of computer-produced sounds that had been sent to outboard gear to warm them up a little. One of the things I love about that album is how analog an...

Re: Volume changes in Sampler
Thanks for the thought, but I checked and its definitely not velocity control.

Volume changes in Sampler
How does Sampler handle the volume of sounds that are brought into it? For example, if I drag a sound into the arrangement view and play it back, the volume sounds normal. But if I drag the same sound into Sampler and play that back, the volume is significantly lower. But both samples say their volu...

Sometimes Live resets properties of my synth patches
I really do not understand what's going on here (Live 8.1.1). Right now I have been noodling with my external synth (Alesis Ion). I have it set up as an external instrument device. I'll have a patch set up, then record a MIDI clip. Then I'll mess around with the patch a bit, tweaking some of the pro...

How are Sends and Returns supposed to be used?
So I've been a little confused on this and could use some clarification. My understanding was that Return tracks can be used so that multiple tracks can utilize the same instance of an effect (so an effect on Return A can be applied to multiple tracks via their Sends). That much makes sense. What I ...

Re: Comfused about warp markers and Seq. BPM
Hey, thanks for the detailed explanation! I guess I'm just used to keeping an eye on that number so that I know I have my loop trimmed to a length that is exactly the right BPM. When I saw the number start changing around I was getting confused.

Comfused about warp markers and Seq. BPM
So I'm attempting to adjust some of the transients in an acoustic guitar recording with warp markers, but am noticing that while my original BPM of the loop is 70, adding and adjusting warp markers is resulting in different Seq. BPM values depending on the warp marker I select. This is really confus...

Slice to New MIDI Track clips are off-beat
After using the Slice to New MIDI Track command on a loop that I have adjusted warp markers on, this is the sequence I get: http://sans-concept.com/Boards/ableton/live_slice_to_midi.gif You can see that the clips are not actually lined up with the beat grid. However, if I remove my warp markers from...

Multi-select for Drum Rack pads
I would love to be able to select more than one Drum Rack pad at a time. Same idea as selecting multiple tracks to adjust the volume of all of them at once. Really wish I could do the same thing for drum rack pads!

Re: Controlling Sampler's "Loop Start" and "Loop End" via MIDI
That is actually working, thanks! Not as ideal as assigning it to any controller, but it works for now.

Controlling Sampler's "Loop Start" and "Loop End" via MIDI
Does anyone know if there's a way to control Sampler's "Loop Start" and "Loop End" parameters via MIDI or automation? Like this: http://www.sans-concept.com/Boards/ableton/live_sampler.gif In that screenshot you can see that there are very few controls highlighted for mapping an ...

Re: Korg nanoKONTROL
My thoughts on LPD8 vs Nanopad: - LPD8 feels better built, but the pads need a lot of pressure to trigger. Trying to do softer notes and most of them don't even register. Can't find any option to adjust the velocity curve to modify this. - Nanopad feels cheaper but pads require less pressure to trig...

Changing the default patch for Analog
Hey guys, is there a way to change what the default patch is for the Analog instrument? I have a different patch I'd like to use as the default (basically with a reset amp envelope and monophonic voice) but I'm not sure how I would do this. Thanks!
