Might be just you. Seems fine here. As a watch the cursor it seems to be in the corresponding audio portion I hear. Same with midi clips. Are you hitting the little "audition" icon by accident when clicking on the clip? Of course that should show a correct display update too, so I don't know ...

Yes, I'm pretty sure of that too, just confirming what the others said. Dragging your mouse doesn't create any midi information. You have to make sure there is midi information is going into the track by assigning the x & y parameters to a midi controller. Then the automation can only be recorded on...

Thanks! Yes, you are right. Track delay is not for soundcard delay and is not to compensate for plugins. My understanding it's meant to compensate for midi response times for hardware or when you send audio out of the interface, process and come back in for recording for example. These are the cases...

Wow, hot topic here! Another emphatic vote for keeping the look the same. We don't need 3D knobs and gradient shading over every parameter box. No way! Why? They are harder to see when performing LIVE. This is a live application and they thought about these things when they designed the appearance o...

Does L5 track delay work while RECORDING external synths?
Here's a question about track delay with hardware synths, hoping you guys can explain if you're trying to do the same thing. It's a continuation of an earlier post here: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24849&highlight= To set my sync properly, I'm sending straight 1/4 note midi notes ou...

Yes that's what it was. Just make sure there is no midi feedback by selecting "no input" on a fresh midi track. Works like a charm now. Now I've got perfect independent midi sync of both notes and clock. I've been waiting for something like this feature for a long time. Someone over there at Ableton...

Hey thanks for the help. I suspected there might be a midi feedback issue before my inquiry. I had the same midi port selected as in & out on the same track, which could be creating a feedback loop. I deselected the midi input on the track to "no input", effectively cancelling the midi feedback issu...

L5 Track delay not working on MIDI track output
The new Live 5 "track delay" setting feature in session view in has no effect on midi output timing to external devices. Delay compensation is turned ON as stated in the manual. I'm trying to predelay midi from the track to compensate the reaction time of my Virus Indigo. I can get the Virus's LFO's...

Ok, I got a chance to try midi notes triggering the Virus from Live. As expected, without the help of the clocked arpeggiator there was a midi delay and adjusting the sync delay had absolutely no effect. I thought I would confirm that just to be sure... Now here's what I found interesting: My drum m...

mm..strange one mate....my sync out is set to -36ms and my MPC2000xl is timed out perfectly... Seems normal....everyone should have a different sync delay depending on the delay introduced by their specific hardware. This is the reason for the option to adjust the setting. For example, dpel said -6...

cool! thanks for all that info... i reckon the monitor thru live is where i have been going wrong!... i have been letting the m-box do the monitoring, and this has, as you say, made it Ahead of everything else. ta. -am You're welcome. Part of writing that was confirming it to myself again, haha. :)...

Hey guys, I've been having the same problem and after a week of beating my head against the wall I think I've finally figured it out... Live4 currently only has the option to sync delay midi *clock* NOT midi *notes* . I've been reading some other posts & people aren't making the distinction between ...
