Suite 8 > Live 9: will instruments and effects still work?

Looking at the feature comparison chart , there are quite a few items exclusive to the Suite bundle. It makes me wonder if user who will follow the upgrade path from Suite 8 to Live 9 will lose the ability to use those items in Live 9? For some random examples, Suite 8 owners already own the Amp ins...

Hehe… actually, whenever if I feel somewhat masochistic, I prefer to use Pure data instead of Max. :p

Re: Live 9 Pricing

So I guess some people in this thread aren't actually reading David's first post? :? They already said they're giving the Suite 8 -> Suite 9 upgraders a deal upon release. So the price you're seeing isn't what you will end up paying (assuming you can wait until the release). You even know roughly h...

Re: Error deleting audio files

On closer inspection it looks like Live is simply complaining about files that are placeholders for recording (zero bytes size, no associated .asd files) - they appear and disappear from the File Browser (and Finder) when a track's record arm status is toggled.

Error deleting audio files

When I record audio files in Live, and then discard them, I am unable to delete them from the File Browser > Current Project. Perhaps this is needed to support undo-ing the sequence of events, at least that would make some sense. However, even after saving the project, quitting Live, relaunching it ...

Re: Use different names for 32/64 bit versions

not sure with OS X (i think it relies on an image), but with Windows you can just right click on the launcher shortcut and rename it to any thing you'd like. On OS X you can also rename the app 'shortcut' on the Dock (OS X app launcher). However, that still requires the underlying app bundles to ha...

Re: Use different names for 32/64 bit versions

Still, it would make it slightly less annoying for us beta testers willing to test both versions. And it all adds up, so it would be *much* easier. Let's do the ballpark maths: Ableton would probably only have to rename some build target *once*. I already had to rename one of the apps a bunch of tim...

Use different names for 32/64 bit versions

Please consider using different names for the 32 and 64 bit versions of Live, respectively (e.g. "Ableton Live 8 Beta" and Ableton Live 8 Beta x64"), so users can more easily install both versions on the same system.

Yup. So, @greekpeet: just be sure to use the AU, not the VST version (at least for now).

Re: CPU Spikes, Audio dropouts getting worse with time

@greekpeet: fwiw, are you aware of the latest update to Diva (now at v1.1.1)? That should work as 64-bit. I haven't tried Jbridge myself, nor do I use Diva's multi-core option, but I can use Diva in 64-bit Live as expected.

Re: Issue with mouse/fader control

Additionally, please try adding this line to the Options.txt "-AbsoluteMouseMode" That would also change mouse behaviour, and might prevetn the issue you are seeing. Best, Mads As far as I can see, that option is broken in 8.4b4, yet still works in 8.3.3 (haven't investigated yet where th...

I was also getting these messages already when using 8.3.1b1 after 8.3 or vice versa. Iirc, it seemed to be related to an outdated ReWire driver.
