mmm had this idea too. The screen would be for selecting the device,track or parameter to be mapped to the controller,a filter and hold solution for building mixed control sets on the fly.Along with triggering clips, file browsing maybe.My solution for moterized faders is a catapillar track endless ...

This leads down the path of a native controller for live that updates it's control set in relation to whats selected on screen, in addition the hardware should have filters and hold buttons so that a usefull controll sets can be built on the fly.
