Re: Hardware versus software
There are other technical shortcomings for MIDI control however. For instance, you can’t rhythmically min and max a knob every 1/16 note (well you can try but you will probably break your controller). Also like you said you have less intimacy with Live. Using only the mouse and keyboard, you ...

Re: Live doubles the audiofile length when freeze-flatten
Thanks, what to do to evoid this when not having release, delay or reverb? Just turn off the loop button of the clips and only one pass will be recorded. (you can turn the loop back on in the audio clip after you've flattened it) Or you could paste the clips in the arrange view (then you will see i...

Re: Live doubles the audiofile length when freeze-flatten
paste the clip in arrange view before freezing/flattening. The doubling in length is in session view when the clip is set to loop so any release/reverb/delay from the first pass is recorded to the beginning of the second pass. Otherwise any sound playing longer than the loop would be cut off every t...

Re: How To Compensate for loudness when using sends?
I see. Didn't follow the link but the OPs answer: I did see the Magic Send when I was searching but this is essentially a toggle function 100% wet or dry so you cannot do slow increases that will introduce the effect whilst simultaneously compensating for loudness on the master. made me think someth...

Re: How To Compensate for loudness when using sends?
Has no one suggested using an effects rack and Utility Plugin??? 8O Say you a reverb on your return track set to 100% wet. http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/9265/send1.jpg Group it to an audio effects rack and add a utility plug in a new chain. On this toggle the Phz-L & Phz-R buttons so the si...

Re: In Session view :Looping a clip, then follow action problems
That's been one of the things that keep popping up in the feature request forum and currently isn't possible in that way. What you could do is paste the clips next to each other in arrangement view and consolidate them (select both an hit ctrl/apple+J) and you'll have them as 1 clip and then loop aw...

Re: What Makes Music Good?
a clue about music theory, they know what intervals and chord changes to use Neither a 303 nor a 909 are capable of playing any chords and white noise doesn't even really have something like notes...and since many great songs have been written using only these elements, that can't be a criterium. I...

Re: How to adjust speed/pitch without warpping. Just like a DJ.
So in turn what i want to achieve is, have 2 tracks side by side and beat-match them together, just like you would on an ordinary DJ setup. How is this done, and is it even possible in Live. You can't beat-match live in ableton. The project speed will count for every warped-audio & midi clip on...

reef, read the manual about clip envelopes it's too awkward to explain over a post. I've found that with (a) me being lazy & (b) many non-native speakers bein on the board the quickest way to explain something is often a screenshot with a few arrows http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/8116/volen...
