Re: Low-Fi Sound Using "MME/DirectX" Driver
After doing ark's test, if you find out that you have the quality you desire using that method, and then reightfully deduce that the mixer itself is not in cause, you could use asio4all for both your carvin and the fasttrack. You can setup ASIO4ALL to use multiple devices (see this article for more ...

Re: Ableton live with Reason rewire or Komplete 7
Komplete on the other hand, you have alot of plugins and great sounds but keeping in mind there seems to be a different workflow for each plugin which to me makes the learn curve larger. Agreed, 100 %. That's a bit unfortunate that the learning curve is so steep (for the synths, the samplers, batte...

Re: Ableton live with Reason rewire or Komplete 7
People love to hate native instruments for some reason, but their stuff is pretty good, IMHO. Unfortunately, you don't have demos for every product they make but you have Komplete 7 players which is free and that you can download here : http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/komple...

Re: Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode
You can turn monitoring on, so the midi messages are sent to the VST but not recorded

Re: Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode
I might say something stupid but if you're in session view, and don't press the "record" button, it's not gonna record your CC changes, is it ?

It's not realted only with live. Go on Native isntruments forums and you'll see plenty of people bitching about them as well !

Re: Tips for giving a pad life.
Try using the side chain option on auto filter; have it receive input from another song part. I believe there is an Abe tutorial on this. Check out this tutorial about sidechaining. It's about sidehcaining with a gate, however it works the same way as with an autofilter http://www.keiken-music.com/...

Re: Alternative to ASIO4ALL
OK but your initial problem isn't latency, but the fact that 2 applications (live and your internet browser) cannot play sound at the same time, or did I miss something ? Therefore, using ASIO4ALL, if Live and Windows have the same sampling frequency (typically 44100 or 960000 hz for both) you shoul...

Re: Alternative to ASIO4ALL
Yep !
Sample rate is some thing expressed in Hz or Khz and is in general 44100 hz or 96000 hz. You've got to check that it's the same, in the Live audio preferences and in the Windows preferences

Re: Alternative to ASIO4ALL
dinaiz, All of my sample rates are the same everywhere. The only thing I've been able to do is raise the sampling rate of the MME/DirectX driver to about 725 so I can watch tuts and get decent sound in Live. When I'm ready to work in live I switch back to the ASIO driver. At least I don't have to c...

Re: Alternative to ASIO4ALL
Yeah there's no difference in sound quality but MME/Direct X works at a much higher latency than ASIO. Setting your Live and Windows 7 preferences to have the same sample rate will allow you to use live with ASIO and watch the tutorials at the same time, hearing the sound. In windows 7, right click ...
