Sample rate is some thing expressed in Hz or Khz and is in general 44100 hz or 96000 hz. You've got to check that it's the same, in the Live audio preferences and in the Windows preferences

Yeah there's no difference in sound quality but MME/Direct X works at a much higher latency than ASIO.
