Nice one! You have a very flexible thumb!
What were the effects you were tweaking with the knobs?

Re: Texas Live Meetup Party
I'd like to attend and participate. I think I have enough material now to throw together a short set and I should have my dang APC40 by then (if Musician's Friend ever gets their act together!). I haven't really figured out the whole live performace aspect of Live, but this would be a great opportun...

Re: Dig That Funky Bass - My New Track
Thanks for listening! I'm definitely going for a maximalist type of sound. My ultimate goal is to come up with some tracks that totally destroy the dancefloor. But maybe this is a bit over the top. I guess I've always been into making music that completely overpowers the audience, but I don't really...

Dig That Funky Bass - My New Track
Got a new song posted on my IMEEM site called Edges:
http://www.imeem.com/people/EbCIw3V
Come check it out and let me know what you think. I'd love to get some constructive criticism as I don't really know if any of these tracks are worthwhile or not.

Re: Change from Gate to Trigger in Drum rack with samples
I think that Drum Racks are set up with the default assumption that the samples getting triggered are short and percussive rather than ones that are meant to go on for a longer time.

I just checked out the APC40 on the Musician's Friend website and it still says "Available 6/1/2009". WTF?!?!

Re: APC 40 30 DAYS DELAYED...
wait, are pre-orders being delayed or the "in stock and shipping" being delayed? Don't know if there is a diffence in availability between California and Texas. Mine was pre-ordered through Musician's Friend - I just got the "Delayed 30 Days" message from them yesterday. I guess...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Change your Clip Launch mode to "Gate". Ooops, hold on a minute, I didn't read the post closely enough. Thought you were trying to launch clips. Would it work if you routed the clip through a dummy clip that had your effect, if the dummy clip were set to "Gate"? Just checked it ...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
The faders don't effect anything, unless you move them. The problem for you maybe that the soft-fader will jump to match the hard-fader, making for some undesirable jumps and dips in your sound when performing. However, when shifting your session view around, the hard-faders won't effect the softwa...

Re: John Zorn
I have a specific preference for a heavy or energetic tone within the music I listen to, no matter what type it is. If groove is considered indicative of a forward momentum, I would prefer an articulate steam roller. For example, I would far and away prefer listening to the Mahavishnu Orchestra as ...

Re: ABLETON LIVE 7 RECORDING
Why do you have to route the tracks to a new audio track? I'm pretty sure you can just arm your tracks, hit master record, and then adjust faders, knobs, effects, etc. as much as you want and it will record all of these movements. You can also draw in any parameter changes, if you want to go that ro...

Re: John Zorn
The odd thing about this argument is that John Zorn makes tons of music that doesn't feature the weird conducting or rapid-fire collages of various genres. Most of his Masada recordings and a lot of his Filmworks CDs are pretty traditional in a lot of ways, and honestly, I think these are some of hi...
