That depends on the musical und personal style. But side chain compression (in dance music) is as imporatant as EQing. Don't forget that and try to do it all with EQs. I personally boost a small peak around 120hz for the kick drum plus enhance some more in the mid/high range depending on the rest of...

First of all: There is no easy way. You have to listen very carefully how the different channels interact, where in the frequency spectrum they should be placed and which ones disturb each other. There are a few basic rules though. Last unit in the signal chain (master) should be a limiter. You shou...

My first track was to figure out what is possible in Live... guess most of us did the same thing. I once said that you have to create hundrets of songs before you can actually release one, and am still thinking that's right. My first songs had some good ideas in them and some will maybe released aft...

Pioneer is NOT top grade ...youre looking at A and H or RANE for top grade... What do you base your opinion on? I've heard a lot of people telling me that they could differ a mp3 from a wav file. My tests with those people told a different story ;) Would love to do the same with you if you are tell...

The Behringer is crap, sorry to say that. I always had a good opinion about Behringer and do own a BCR controller, but once had a set in a club with this mixer and I have to say: it was horrible. The faders had a stupid curve like 80% of the fader way was in auditable and the remaining 20% were like...

And perhaps you got something wrong... the main utility for scratching is a turntable (although it is possible with cd-players too - I personally don't like it), not the mixer. A mixer won't scratch anything, it can only allow more advanced techniques than baby scratches. For transformers, crabs and...

It has a crossfader curve which for me is the only imporant feature of a mixer when it comes to scratching. Line fader curves would allow Euro Scratches, but if I read between the lines correctly, you're a beginner and therefore years away from such advanced techniques. I think the Korg mixer is ok,...

I did, too ;) I am a bit confused which forum is really used. There's much more activity here... I am not so much into python and don't understand why it wont find the module, even though '/Applications/Live 7.0.5 OS X/Live.app/Contents/App-Resources/MIDI Remote Scripts/_LiveAPICore/python22/' is in...
