Learning a controller/instrument pays off so much!!!

Hello friends....I am a guitarist of 40 years so guitar is my primary instrument & controller because of my wireless MIDI pickup. This message is for the younger, upcoming artists/producers who want to make a full time living in music production, DJing or gigging with Ableton. This comes to mind...

Re: begginer advice, just got some equipment and ableton 9 lite

I was in your shoes almost 1 1/2 ago. And let me tell you, after 6 months, I almost quit. Plus this was my second home studio. My first studio was a 24 track Roland VS-24 which was a standalone hardware recorder. This MIDI & DAW thing was brand new for me and I couldn't even spell MIDI until a y...

Are downloadable Loops, patches, presets, etc for amateurs?

Hello friends...I remeber about 1 1/2 ago I made this killer recording using prerecorded loops and emailed track to a friend. This friend has been playing with keys and MIDI like 25 years from very beginning. He proceeded to tell me anyone can do what I did because these programs beat match, set cor...

Unless I am misunderstanding your question.
You are correct sir. I did not explain myself well. Thanks for jumping in!!

Re: Mapping & Audio Effects Rack

Press the User button at the top right of Push 2 to access User mode. Thanks Tarekith. Good to hear from you. Been quite a while since I was active on this forum because I was spending 99% of my time watching videos from MacProVideo.com, Warpacademy.com & Groove3.com. I have been hard at work t...

Re: Mapping & Audio Effects Rack

You can't MIDI Map the Push 2 Encoders unless you are in User Mode, you have to use the Blue Hand automapping feature... Cheers D I am finally getting a bit fluent on Push 2, but forgot what you mean by "user" mode. I also have an APC-40MK2 and would actually prefer to map those encoders ...

Mapping & Audio Effects Rack

Today I finally had another "aha" moment when I figured out how to setup mapping. I LOVE this feature because of the "motion" that can added to tracks by turning one knob. My question is how do I now tae the virtual mapping of the 8 knobs in the effects rack and map them to one o...

Re: What to do with my cash - Advice please

Forgot to mention I own a Moog Sub 37 and it is hands down, the best piece of gear I ever purchased. There is something about external analog gear that adds a fun factor especially if you are a musician. I play MIDI guitar using the FTP, and not only can I control soft synths, I was told I could con...

Is it time to finally buy an Ipad Pro??

I have been watching with much anticipation all the new apps that seem to be coming available for the Ipad. Reason I ask this question, I mentioned I am starting Dubspot next week in NYC which gives me about 90 minutes of roundtrip commute time (excluding subway). . I do NOT need a laptop at the mom...

Starting Dubspot Next Friday!!!

Well the time has come to take my limited Ableton knowledge the next level. I had a traumatic brain injury from a terrible accident which makes learning this software not as easy as many found it to be. I couldn't spell MIDI a year ago. I realize Dubspot it is expensive but that all depends on every...

Is it time to buy an Ipad Pro?

Hello Friends....Long time no speak. Been holding off buying an Ipad for the longest time but it seems there are so many apps now related to music production and even specific soft synths I own, I am wondering if investing in an Ipad Pro finally makes sense. Anyone using Ipad as a controller or some...

I use Omnisphere and Trillian and LOVE these plugins. Spectrasonics has excellent customer support so just call them directly and I am sure they will be able to help you with the issues/questions you have. They have been a pleasure to work with and have helped me on many occasions.

Re: Ableton private lessons?

I have been studying with Jimmy for months and he is not only brilliant when it comes to Ableton, but one heck of a cool, down-to-earth person. I was on the phone with him today and have a two hour lesson on Sunday. You will not find a better instructor who is Ableton Certified for the price he char...
