Re: Look at this fucking hipster...
that's good, because you should judge people by how they look. give people a break (especially nerds - they need your love).... You're both right (sarcasm noted Tone Deft) I shouldn't be so mean... I've had my fashion moments. I didn't dig too deep (first page) into the site. I was having multiple ...

I think my eyes are burning now...
All of those people were reason #1 why I quit going to raves circa 1995.
When I walk through Berkeley, Oakland or SF now and see their kin, my mind quickly files them in a catagory marked LOL and then dumps about 2 minutes later.

Re: Controller Recommendation & Should I upgrade?
The BlueTube is the truth. Yes, it is basically just a preamp, but it changed everything for me. I've only had it about a month and just in setup time alone it saves me half an hour everytime I use the MIC or a guitar on a new track. No more gates and compressors on the inputs in Cubase or on my Aud...

Re: Controller Recommendation & Should I upgrade?
The new Zero does have a cross fader. http://www.novationmusic.com/products/zero_sl_mk_ii?option=midi_controller That's what I meant when I said "that fader is tight"... Hmmm. I don't know how bad you need those keys... Touch sensitive as a new feature (and I'm just guessing on this) proba...

Re: Controller Recommendation & Should I upgrade?
Differences between ReMOTE SL and SL Mk II: • Mk II ships with the latest Automap 3 PRO • All dials and faders are now touch-sensitive • All SL Mk II’s buttons are illuminated • Mk II features a single LED screen (as it now features the Automap Heads-up GUI) • SL MK II’s top row of dials have 11-LED...

Re: Controller Recommendation & Should I upgrade?
Almost forgot about your other question... This may start some arguments, but if you're just learning the software I say roll with 7. By the time you get good and comfortable and thinking you have it figured out people will be talking about version 9. Don't worry, they won't stop making new shit tha...

Re: Controller Recommendation & Should I upgrade?
I think he's got you on the right track... I'm using a Novation ReMote Zero SL... It gave me a little bit of confusion with Cubase SX3 but LIVE loves it. If you don't need the keys from the standard SL series this is a cheaper alternative (about $220.00). It makes life much easier for me. Like Tone ...

Re: Live Packs - Where are they?
Its fixed now. So, no. I could have, but I'm not breaking it to prove any points. I did try and use the file manager (could be the wrong name not at my DAW) in Ableton, but the list was really long of broken files and they should have been there. What I mean is the library was moved as a complete un...

Re: Do you equate Hip Hop listenership with shady activity?
Oakland is safe? LOLZ! highest murder rate in the state. there are nice parts of it but do you watch the news? cops getting shot, the cops shooting that guy in BART on New Years (cop claims to have confused his gun with his tazer!) there are definitely nice parts of town, but Oakland is in trouble ...

Re: Do you equate Hip Hop listenership with shady activity?
There is a lot of Hip Hop that isn't smack talking crap. Unfortunately, thats not what the mainstream is marketing. Somebody earlier in the post said they felt safer in Oakland. I can relate to that statement. Oakland is chill, at least most of it. On that note there are a lot of Hip Hop acts from i...
