Re: What happened to the active clip view trick?
I figured it out. You only need to assign the track status these days. Nice thing is if you assign the track header separately, you can use that for device view. So you have both choices now.

What happened to the active clip view trick?
Hi! I've circled back to this trick, which is a relic really, only to find that it no longer works. Can you confirm this on your end? It used to be that if you assigned a button to both the track header AND the track status display, that if that track was playing a clip it would immediately present ...

Re: Mixer for ableton
Push 2 I've answered this question the same way since it came out. There are plenty valid reasons to mix with encoders rather than faders; some of the best dj mixers work in this manner. Plus you get RMS read out directly on the screen. Not to mention it's natively meant to be used in this manner. H...

Re: Effect made with eq8 and lfos
I really like this. First off it's an economical way of using the LFO. And as you say it nicely offsets the evolution of the drone or pad. What would be interesting I think is if it could also evolve horizontally in the graphic eq. What if there was a scale that moved the boosted frequencies and com...

Re: Vinyl Set
This could be so many things. Your safe-level signal might have been monitored too low to catch the issue during recording. Recorded levels can still send problems like input clipping down stream, if say you were overloading a passive DI box or something like that, or say that the ground wasn't comi...

Re: can i record vocals while reverb is live
Focusrite mix control is where you set up "direct monitoring" you want to monitor the output stage of the interface, not just the playback of the daw. This will be a different mix than your typical mixing, listening to spotify, etc. settings. To do one better, make a mix of your secondary ...

Re: Any point installing 9.7.4
But to not change a working set up is always a valid approach. I always save the previous version so find getting a new updates side by side to be virtually risk free. So true. Better to be on the tail end of an update schedule. Better still to retain the previous version even when I'm updating. Mi...

Re: Any point installing 9.7.4
1st thing I notice in 9.7.3 is that a project lost reference to all it's VST devices... I guess I'll relink the VST folders first and then open the projects... Also, replacing it with 9.7.4 states that "a newer....would you like to replace it with the older version?" in other words, it thi...

By format you mean a conventional keyboard? Because if you are comparing it to the push, that's a grid. In either case I'd look at the QuNexus and QuNeo by Keith McMillan.

Re: Using Insert On Audio Interface
I'm going to come back to this and read the answers more thoroughly as well as to see how you're doing with the heat. I've yet to pick one up, and I've had the same skepticism about overbridge. But yeah, inserts would be great for tracking or at least helping the performer monitor their performance....

Hey, how do you like that Heat? I mean the elektron, not the grief you're getting from the misses. Speaking of heat, she has a point. You have 2 radiators under both windows it looks like. That might not work, unless you trust yourself or your landlord to uninstall one, cap it off, or relocate it. Y...

Re: Your Help in my Music Room Makeover . . .
Completely agree with Richie and Fish, Start with orientation. Then calibrate for SPL. And only when you move to bass management should you begin to think about treatment. You can use a hand mirror slid around the walls to see what reflection points relative to listening position have a sightline of...
