Re: Drum Racks Kick Drum Laying issue.
I like to take two kicks and layer a nice salami or prosciutto -- or hell, both, why not -- and then use some low fat mayo and honey mustard. If you're feeling real dangerous you could try a THIRD kick in the middle but let's not get too crazy OK why not, layer that third kick and how about a wide s...

Re: Drum Racks Kick Drum Laying issue.
The idea with Layering Kicks isn't that you just take a bunch of kicks and play them simultaneously and hope it all goes well. It won't, as you're discovering. This isn't Drum Racks fault. You have to appropriately EQ each kick so they complement each other. Do some research online, there's plenty o...

Re: What can we expect with X?
2. Alchemy Like Synth - foreal people have always been saying logic has so much bang for its buck but now it certainly does with the addition of alchemy. Having a synth with such a great effects along with endless modulation possibilities and seemingly unlimited filtering is the bees knees. God, I ...

Re: What can we expect with X?
just a personal wish-list, but: -new and vastly expanded rendering options, e.g. Bounce in Place, export with sends printed to channels, etc. -the ability to place plugin FX on individual clips, with option to quick render them (check Studio One if you want to see this in action, it's great). - pian...

Re: Route individual drum rack cells to different tracks ?
yeah, ableton should be expected to think up every possible usage case scenario and be 100% accommodating for it, no matter how rare or bizarre or seemingly useless that usage case ischapelier fou wrote:Clever. At least more clever than Ableton !

the only answer to this question is: study music theory and experiment with what you learn.

Re: What's Your Workflow using Maschine and Ableton
+1 on just dragging and dropping audio from Maschine to Live. I don't even use Maschine as a plugin in live, just in standalone. I absolutely hate having the maschine trasnport turned off. TBH, there just isn't a good workflow for running the two in sync. I like to create sequences in Maschine, in s...

Re: El Capitan ruined my life (10.11.3)
I haven't noticed any issues with El Capitan and Live. Can't speak for the audio interface though.

Re: Methods 4 pitching up/dwn vox radically keeping quality
Live's pitching results seem to be intensely content-dependent, which means there's no golden rule for what gets good results. It's amazing to me how one file can sound perfect when radically re-pitched in "complex pro" mode, while another will get utterly mangled... I've yet to recognize ...

Re: Since v9.2 Ableton is borderline useless for me
Load times for projects and startup are ok, but for me it hangs a lot -- I get a OSX beach ball making me wait between performing basic actions far more often than I think I should be. I have a new 2016 iMac with 16 gigs ram and fancy-ass i7 processor and all that, but yeah, it hangs a lot. In a cro...

Re: Audio vs drum racks
Some people like me are MIDI people, who like to perform hands-on with controllers and keys, and then see the performance mapped out in a piano roll for editing. Some people are audio people, who don't perform hands-on much per se, and prefer to see audio waveforms laid out on the screen, and move t...

Re: Essential plugins for mixing
Seriously, just use the native Live effects for mixing - they are awesome. EQ8 and Compressor are fantastic for mixing duties, and the delays are all indispensable to me.

Re: Reverb template
I have a template that I've used for 5+ years now, only occasionally with tweaks and adjustments. I actually have 12 sends on it, the maximum; obviously they don't all get used in each session, but the idea is that everything I need is ready to go. What's amazing is this template has worked for me r...
