Re: How to send a specific frequency to an effect, and back

The frequency selection and boosting is simply done with the parametric EQ in the mixer, which lets you select a frequency with one knob and cut it or boost it with a 2nd one. This can be done with one band of EQ8. The sending to an effect, then having it be sent back into itself is a bit more compl...

Re: Anyone play video games here?

I haven't played the Fallout games, but I think for some reason bad endings seem to be common in open world games, gameplay or story wise. Last one I played was AC2, which in general let me down. I thought in an effort to make it more varied they made it too scripted and did away with the stuff I li...

Re: Photoshop Experts

After a ton of time wasted in Photoshop, I think the fundamental things to learn are: - How layers work. The basics are easy when you think of them as cutouts that can be placed on top of each other, and deleting a selection or masking something makes that space transparent and lets what's below be ...

Re: need advice on protecting idea for application/VST/au

+1 to 501dubz Also learn how to program it at least to a point of it being a good prototype. If you come in anywhere with just an idea, however revolutionary it might be, and can't contribute in any other way to making it happen, you'll just get screwed over in the deal. You might even find you need...

Re: iMaschine is out!

Does anyone know if it supports Sonoma's or Intua's Audio Copy/Paste? I've found that apps that support it to be way more useful when trying to come up with ideas on the iPhone. If it does it'd fit perfectly in my workflow.

If you're on a Mac and tired of playing Photoshop, check this out http://www.udevgames.com/. Some of the past winners are a lot of fun, my favorite is Black Shades.

The one I went to apparently was filmed/broadcasted, though I have no idea where. If you can, go, I had a great time and got a few new ideas out of it.

Re: Anyone play video games here?

lol, so true. Every year it's the same "we've reinvented the wheel of football games" speech with new super detailed animations and tweaks to the controls and graphics and so, then a few games in you figure out that if you send a through pass from the right spot or take a shot at the right...

Re: Music theory help needed. Scales.

It's kind of hard explaining how scales work against chord progressions in short, but I think the easiest way to think about it is that the notes in your melody should respond to how the chords underneath are moving and not just be one a pick off a set of preselected notes (a scale). For example, th...
