Engineer jokes from my old man: 1. Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love and get married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent. 2. Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, "I've lost my electron." The other says, "Are you sure?" The first replies, &q...

Ableton impregnated me with alien babies by releasing this version You, too? I'm so happy I'm not the only one eating for seven. Loading up on Sigourney Weaver's intergalactic carbohydrate diet is so tiring, and I have no idea how I'm going to put these little buggers through college, what with the...

Historically, Linux only makes inroads where it emulates or mimics the functionality of existing standards (e.g. SMB from Microsoft, UI design of Windows and Mac OS, journaling file systems from IRIX and BeOS). Linux fails miserably when trying to put forward standards of its own, insofar as failure...

I've been listening to loads of Chris Morris lately. Can't seem to shake it off. It's triphop and ambient music and comedic satire, or what we music journalists call ambicomedy.

Linux != BSD. Porting difficulties would probably result for other reasons, however, as OS 9/X use their own audio hooks. And there exist very few plug-ins to extend functionality of Live (or any host for that matter) on the Linux platform...

He didn't use his laptop much except to trigger preprogrammed material here and there. Not much need for a fully featured controller, I would think.

In Soviet Russia, chicks will pick you up with that thing.

Sorry, all this geekery is making me dizzy. How many millions of reverb plug-ins can you run with that again?

But, the athlon 64 chip has been beating ever cpu out there by a fair margin. 2nd in speed is the intel M chip (centrino). it is near the performance of the athlon 64. Both are more than capable of beating out dual G5 towers, amazingly. Be sure to buy a quiet fan and lots of sound dampening materia...
