Re: seems like not a lot of movie composer
I didn't say you were talking about a simple video implementation but that I personally don't think it should be a priority of a DAW (note the A) developer to implement any video features. Not to say they shouldn't be included, just that they shouldn't be priority or the "next logical step"...

Re: seems like not a lot of movie composer
next logical step in productconcept should be a next add on module like max but for video I completely disagree. If this sort of thing is even on the list, it shouldn't be anywhere near the top and I don't think that the next logical step for any DAW is better video implementation really. Unless th...

Re: The CEO of AKAI after Maschine 1.6 beta release
The only pads that really worked well for me were the rectangular soft pads on the MC-909 groovebox. Fair enough. I'm obviously not arguing with your preference/experience. But I hated those pads. Worst thing about the machine. Though I think it's quite a relevant machine to bring up. I've always t...

Re: The CEO of AKAI after Maschine 1.6 beta release
It's a good point actually. Does Maschine have circular sensors? I thought the PadKontrol was supposed to have square sensors... I'm sure they marketed it with that as a selling point.

Eh? Why?aniajudie wrote:that sux:(..
Surely that's much better than having to manually MIDI map all of your controls to the pads... Imagine if you had to do that with keyboards! Map each key to the key on the keyboard!
Which controller are you using?

Re: How can I assign midi controller to a Drumrack pad?
Because they're not MIDI mappable... They just respond to MIDI notes. Set your controller and controller's channel to be the input of the track your Drum Rack is on and find out which notes your controller is sending and match 'em up with the Drum Rack pads. I have to be this general and vague becau...

Re: Midi key set to "gate" and always on sight Midi mappings ?
This is the ol' momentary thing again, isn't it? I believe that you'll have to use some 3rd party device/app/program to get this functionality. ClyphX can certainly do it with MIDI input but not sure about just keystrokes. And I'm sure Bome's could do this too. The ability to make any input momentar...

Re: drag & drop from explorer
Fair enough then. Like I said, I wasn't arguing, I just find it very surprising! I know you can load Live packs and things like that by dragging from the OS, but, also like I said, I've never tried dragging wavs etc (which I assume is what you want). I'm guessing their argument would be that your en...

Can you not already do this? I haven't actually tried, so I'm not arguing, just surprised. I thought you already could do this.

I actually think Maschine is loads better than a Strat.LoopStationZebra wrote:I'm waiting to see the Maschine kicks the Fender Strat's ass any day of the week!!!! post.
I'd certainly prefer it.
But that's just because I'm not a fan of the Stratocaster. Not at all for the point you were making.

Re: Ableton you have the slowest programmers in this universe...
i think Ableton could benefit from starting something similar to NI's Traktor on the Record Sessions. That way it would let people talk to the developers directly and see what the problems are. http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=216 They do it for Maschine too and it is a ve...

Re: Ableton you have the slowest programmers in this universe...
on that note will it ever be perfect? I realise your question was probably rhetorical, but no. Perfection is impossible and a perfect product will never exist. However... they need to FIX things like 3rd party automation sync and basic Arrange view features that other DAWs have. I agree completely.

Re: Maschine 1.6 Beta out now!
Does Maschine do live looping? Yup. To record live audio and play it back immediately after recording in sync, enable Input on all Sounds of an empty Group and choose your sampling source; now put a note on the first step of the Pattern for each Sound. In the Record Tab, choose sync-mode and select...

Re: Any Pioneer EFX users?
Maybe it is just different. But I don't really mean to say that it's a special delay. It is a pretty basic delay really. It just acts/performs/responds/reacts/works/behaves differently. I do think the EFX delay actually sounds more "solid" and less cold but that's not really what I mean he...

Re: Should I make my rig analog or digital
I think what you need to do, if you haven't already, is do some stability tests with Ableton in Choice 1. Real, gig-esque setting up and playing for as long as a long set is for you. If after a few, you're happy as Larry who still has his no-claims, go for Choice 1. Even if you're not happy, I'd sti...
