And i've never had it crash, not even once, not even a graphic glitch or anything. wow, that's pretty cool. i come from the depths of the linux sound world, where crashes are all just part of the mystery, only been on osx about two years and it has been rock solid, but i'd say logic craps its pants...

Does traktor sound any good when beat matching? Like, do the beats match up perfectly and you get some nice punchy mixes? I know Torq is very sloppy when trying to beat match using just the computer - not external vinyl or cd-js I noticed Carl Cox is using Traktor now as well curious - traktor is n...

Three, do you mean Drum Rack into battery as in Live's Drum Rack? What exactly are you doing here? tks yeah, drag the samples out and dump them into battery. if there's one plugin in the world that simply has no competition, it's battery. ableton's drum racks are the first thing that comes close, b...

See I have no problem working with Ableton as a DAW. i think the question is largely what you do and how you do it. i record everything over logical ins & outs on 1-2 pcs - so on my main box, and sometimes the mac mini gets to pitch in - and i just never quite feel comfortable with big sound fi...

the last thing i plan on doing is waging a holy war in favor of vocoders - for sure not. and the second last thing i'm going to do is confuse capitalism with art, but that track was the #1 download on beatport for a goooood month. for about three weeks you couldn't fin a dj that wasn't playing it tw...

check out sebastien leger's recent stuff, putting guitars through vododers - turn out to sound fantastic. i think the track is called like words, or worlds, or wonks or something. check on beatport yeah, sebastien leger, track is "word (original mix)" if you want to listen to it on beatpo...

sorry, hit send too quick. that's been number one in the german club charts since what, january? ok, admittedly it's because the lyrics are hilarious, it's about being awake for three days running. and a lot of the people can identify with that in the club scene. but that's a big fat vokator in the ...

well, seeing as that's not happening universally, i'd imagine there's probably still hope. if you just want to rant, well, by all means, but if you want help then you'll want to start by telling us the story of your computer. then, with a modicum of luck, maybe intelligent answers will appear. cheer...

I don't think XP 32 can see more than 3G (?) That's true for XP Home. XP Pro can utilize the > 3GB switch. It's a moot point, though- your other apps have to be able to access the additional RAM, and as most 32 bit apps aren't using LAA schemes, the most you'll be able to address with most 32 bit a...

we hear this way too much here, but the old "not a windows guy" thing applies here a bit - so i don't know what kind of diagnostic tools you have on windows, but the first interesting question is whether it's jitter causing latency or just straight up latency. if jitter gets bad, then a we...

sure, it can certainly be caught and corrected, but do any of have any good thoughts on how to avoid getting out of phase in the first place? we were talking to other day about the fact that it certainly does happen even running a system in full-on live mode with nothing but synthesizers generating ...

depending what plugins you're using, i almost always try to just take midi clips and presets from live to logic. the drum machines are (IMHO) the weakest part of logic, but it only takes about 10 minutes to gather the drum rack into battery *and it's an opportunity to retune the drums now that the m...

I'm using logic 8 on a number of different systems (macbook, mac mini core solo and some Imacs) and there are very few issues that I have come across with it, I've found it a very solid piece of software, and my students use it day in day out for work, and so do I for teaching. absolutely - i would...
