Re: The DAW is dead
Yes Angstrom, their is millions of ' techno ' tunes made everyday. Most of which are just toss. Painting by numbers music. Point and click. Edm ?, don't make me laugh. Hardly even music, just a very bad formula. This goes back to my initial thread. The formula is followed on the DAW. So thereby the ...

Re: The DAW is dead
Not original techno which was almost like freeform jazz. Repetitive beats comes from the earliest primal drums. Pointing and calculating with a mouse in front of a screen it wasn't.

The DAW is dead
Techno is an alive organic entity. Not to be formatted on a spread sheet.

MIDI sync iPad to hardware synths
The MacBook lid is closed. I'm midi daisy chaining a few hardware synths, with audio going through a mixer. I want to incorporate iPad synth apps for pad sounds. How do I midi sync it? What physical connection and settings?.

Recording into live straight from mixing desk
I've got a few hardware synths running through a desk with the main outs to monitors. How/can I record directly from the desk into ableton? What is the cable routing, and will u need an audio interface? Thanks

Re: Getting pick up mode to work for midi controller and VSTs.
No difference between value or pick up. Will just jump to the previous channels parameter as soon as I move the dial. I am I missing something in the midi learn/configuration or preferences?

Re: Getting pick up mode to work for midi controller and VSTs.
Nope, tried that and just jumps to previous channels parameter settings. I've tried midi learn on vst, on ableton, and with configure. I'm hoping I'm doing something wrong in the setting up. What is the correct way to set up?

Getting pick up mode to work for midi controller and VSTs.
Please help!. This has been driving me mad for longer than I can remember. I want to control a particular vst using a midi controller. I can assign parameters ok, but can never get it to work with the pick up mode assigned in takeover. I have tried different midi controllers ( and VSTs ), but can't ...

Live recording from mixer outs
I've connected a few volcas, and running audio through a small mixing desk. Without using a computer, I want to directly record the outs from the desk. Almost into like an old cassette recorder, but with pristine sound quality. Small footprint for my micro set-up. Plus the ability to then transfer t...

Re: Fave little hardware synth
I have a virus ti, and you can't compare it to the little rocket. But for some reason, I haven't made a real connection with it. Gonna try and incorporate into my new set up, ( mixing desk and all ), but at the moment can't see it being centre stage

Re: Fave little hardware synth
Reason behind the original question is I'm pretty sure I'm sidelining soft synths and unlovable midi controllers. Hardware, especially analog just sounds better. No argument can dissuade me. Plus it's more involved and fun. I've bought loads of soft synths over the years, but hardly ever used them c...

Volca power
Just discovered the korg volca range. Wow....full of charm. Very cool, great sound. Seriously ( maybe ), considering putting everything to the side, and just concentrating on these bad boys. Thoughts on making a little studio set up, just volca. Worth persuing?
