Re: Transpose Entire Ableton Track?

I do a bit of sampling, looping pieces from different songs, and I often need to transpose a loop to get it to match the other tracks. It's simple to do this on a "per clip" basis; I just use the transpose envelope on the clip itself. However this can be annoying if you've cut out a dozen...

Re: Apple Loops in Ableton?

I just rename caf files to aiff files. all audio applications (VLC, Quicktime, iTunes, LogicX, Riffstation etc.) read them easily except Live 9. any suggestions?

Re: Graphical Pitch Correction

posted this many years ago before 6 or 7th version but still not there. To me it is pretty nonsense. Implementing this would be the biggest upgrade since 4th version

Re: Best small monitors...

The 8020s are very very sweet, but don't go much below 60hz. I replaced mine with bluesky mediadesk 2.1 which for the same price include a subwoofer. If you have room for that. edit: alternatively the genelec subwoofer is an extra 500 quids... :( mediadesk can go deeper in bass but it definitely la...

Re: LIVE 8 PERFORMANCE TEST - Results Here

when I look at results, there are two things, which seem to be wrong with this test and maybe with Live.

1. 4-core systems have the same or better results than 8-core
2. about 20% CPU load on 4 or 8 cores with this easy test - some samples and 16 reverbs is definitely TOO MUCH!!!

Re: Ableton Live 8 Running horribly slow on Mac Pro 8 Core

I am getting very poor performance compared to my "old" 2008 mac pro that was an eight core 2.8ghz. I have problems reaching lower latencies than 512/1024 samples with a decent amount of plugins. One session I am running now has 11 tracks and around 30 mixed plugins. That consumes 83% of ...

Re: 8.0.4 still sloooooooowly on Mac Pro

Hi, which version of OS X do you use? If it´s not the latest one, please update to 10.5.7. If the problem remains: Do you also get it without 3rd party plug-ins? If only with plug-ins: which ones do you use when the problem occurs? Best, Jörg hi, i have 10.5.7 and what I can read on this forum, thi...

8.0.4 still sloooooooowly on Mac Pro

after some recorded tracks (mainly MIDI with VSTi and FX) Live slows down in terms of mouse click response. CPU about 10%... still the same as in previous versions. sometimes I need to wait 5-10 seconds after pressing mouse button (on/of track button or on/of button on FX), totaly slow reactions

Re: Migrating to Live from Logic

serious: finish your logic tracks in logic and make new music in live. migrate only, if you want to use the tracks on stage and do it the audio way. everything else is a waste of time. i think so too. or what would be a reason to finish a song in Live rather then in Logic?, unless you need the trac...

Re: Huge Latency diff. between 7 & 8

there is no difference between AU and VST in Live (verified) absolutely not true. start a thread on this and prove me wrong. the rest is up to the user and how they set up each DAW. use Logic if it works for you. your conclusions about Live are ill-founded. for me there is no difference between AU ...

Re: Huge Latency diff. between 7 & 8

that's very interesting. maybe try the VST version of the plug ins? I'm on PC so I can't use AU, I think I've read that AU doesn't work as well as VST. maybe send your set (without the midi data) to support@ableton.com with a good description like that, they might help. maybe you've found a bug! (t...

Re: Huge Latency diff. between 7 & 8

It is very strange for me when I need to learn to use something "correctly" to get it working right. you need to learn to use it correctly? you just wrote that you know Live very well, which is it? I don't believe you know Live very well if this is all you can report. it's not much of a r...
