Re: Using Massive / Other samples with ableton

You need to authorize Massive via the service center programe, simply connect to the internet via the PC/Mac you wish to authorize massive on and then follow what it say's when trying to start massive.

Or run the NI Service center programe and authorize all your plugins..

Re: Compressor Side Chain from MIDI NOTES

I don't know why you want this, under the sidechain example you've given, however this kinda thing is possible with Max 4 Live. If you waiting for the Live v9 update to suite that includes max, then I'm sure your api wishes will be granted there. Actually, scratch that, I realised that the compress...

I like to start a gallery with screenshots of arrangements. feel free and post your screenshot. for me sometimes they look like a modern "art" picture. Track Name: "Darkness" Style: Tech-House http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45320232/trythis.jpg Scaled up to A5 and hung on the studio wa...

Re: 2xmonitor support: wishful thinking?

And strangely, is their a Live user left in the universe who couldn't see or use the benefits, I've often wondered why Ableton never ran their own e-mail questionaires that covered Live user uses as surely it must have crossed most's user paths at some point. Point of fact, their have been many sugg...

Re: How much Sample Libraries do you use / recommend?

I have an external hard drive full of sample libraries... more than I could use in a lifetime. Every once in a while when I feel my sounds are getting stale, I'll dig into them and pull out some stuff I like. I add effects, layer em up, resample, and then make a drum rack or sampler full of the mod...

Re: How much Sample Libraries do you use / recommend?

Various, drum loops, non of which will be being used in Live 9. I intend to use this version change, to make my music my own for the better, save any one shot's that are cool though, found sounds are still difficult without a good sampler and I like those analogue sounds. in particular Ian Boddy Dru...

Re: Is Ableton really for Electronic Musicians?

I should also add, that reading this stuff is fun, the topic of 'When is a producer a musician' and 'Are people who use computers to produce music, musicians' should find it's own website because the argument is as big as it wide, and we all like talking about it, frankly I think we all should have ...

Re: Is Ableton really for Electronic Musicians?

I always thought of a musician as someone who makes music regardless of how they do it. + 1 If I had listend to all the 'Carn't do's' in my life, :? I would be sitting on my A** getting fat, feeling jelous of all the guy's on stage with their synths and guitars, bashing out class songs, still wishi...

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?

[ I'm not following you, :| I'm saying that, features and content at Beta testing stage (Even closed Beta) is a demo of the final product (Near enough), not a sketch pad of a new product, which would be tested out in their offices and studio way before it get's to this stage, i.e a stage at which i...

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?

Two things make me wonder what paranoia Ableton has been framed into by some legal advice, that makes no sense really, why is this damaging? why is it bad for your users new and prospective to read about new features?. :? Some features and how they are implemented as still in flux, doesn't make sen...

Re: Is Ableton really for Electronic Musicians?

I know it has just about everything an electronic musician looks for in a DAW but I have this tendency to write what I feel on a whim from electronic type sounds to rock to orchestral and I was wondering if this is the DAW that's ideal to write on a whim? I've been using Ableton Live 8 Lite and I s...

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?

If you're on the beta, please wait to post comments publicly. WTF? You were one of first people discussing the new features for Live 9. Is already Live 9 videos on the web too. Sorry mine English. Greets! And Ableton asked me to stop, just passing on what I was told. Two things make me wonder what ...

Re: A few beginners questions.

Hey Everyone, I am fairly new to Ableton and learning a lot through theses forums and other various tutorials. I'm really new to using audio samples and haven't been able to find basic answers to a few things. I think I understand the basics to using an audio file (a drum loop, for example), choppi...

Re: Recording with M-Audio Venom

Set up for audio device is in audio preferencs of Ableton Live. i.e select M-Audio Venom as Audio interface. The Venom has Local On/Off and USB Device ON/Off also, which you may want to look at. You select them On/Off via Edit button and corresponding key on the Keyboard of the Venom. I did conside...
