Topic: Why are there no 'MIDI' LFOs in Live ?!?

I understand what Robert is talking about, and as they should, ableton is thinking the implementation through to the very end. However I think that many users would actually be fine with a dirty 'hack' for now, and something that overrides the automation data or midi control. Just a host clocked low...

Can you play an ableton live set from a dvd-r?

The faster anyone can answer this I would appreciate it. Assume everything is self contained and I'm only using ableton plugs, can I put the self contained set on dvd-r and play from it?

Fastest answer gets rep!!!

I know this has been beaten to death, but to have no midi lfo in live is just about the dumbest thing I can think of, especially for live performances when you want to start panning the audio like crazy or distributing delays. It is so silly not to have it when ideologically it's so simple to implem...

I've been asking questions about battery all over the place that no one can answer. I love the interface and some of the editing tools, but so many stupid little things make it pretty unusable to me, and I'd really like to use it.

Good Random Delay Plugin

I have used/modified some good msp patches which implement a very nice random delay system. The various delays are controlled by buttons which choose the time division, these are layed out like 16, 32, 64, 128, etc. Then you can choose a random progression through these delay rates, without glitches...

My biggest gripe is for search through clips to trigger them. Its it possible to set an x/y to browse through the channels/clips and trigger them? A little midi joystick with an entry button would be awesome but I don't know if this can be set. Everytime I play this annoys me the most, mousing aroun...

Leave the loop on the whole phrase and just move the start marker to beat 2.

The loop wraps back around to the start marker.

I'm flabbergasted that live sampler cannot do this automatically. Its a common editing feature of all full fledged samplers. It's really crap actually. All they need is one right click drop down command - samples to contiguous zones, i.e. one sample per each key.

Ableton Sampler - Multiple Samples to Contiguous Zones

Hello, I'm just curious, if I drag multiple samples into the sampler it lays them out with a full key range per sample. There's a command that will divide the samples evenly amongst the available key range, but I'm looking for a quick way to set each sample to one key, so even if I only drag in 12 s...

Recording on a spare channel while playing live

I'm doing a live pa at a small festival in canada tomorrow night and I'd kind of like to record it. In house I did one live recording, just using a spare channel w/ the audio input set to master. I'm going to test tomorrow, but I'm just curious if anyone has any advice from experience. I haven't clo...
