this getting a bit OT, but I'm not sure the guy who originally posted the question is paying attention anymore, so whatever. Some of you were discussing the SIAC. The Synth-in-a-case, I think Machinate posted a picture. I don't know if any of you use Reaktor, but did you know there is a emulation of...

dude, I hate to break it to ya, but all of Logic's plug-ins are native to Logic, so they only work in Logic. Ya, it would be nice to use them in Live but that'll never happen. If you want to use the two together, your best bet is to rewire Live to Logic. Live for the audio loops, Logic for the midi....

Reason is awesome. Couldn't live without it really. Everybody who dises it seems not to understand it imo. i don't think many people really mean to diss it, they just find something else they like better, and with good reason, because the alternative is probably a far superior product. i would gues...

reasons i would use reason: -ridiculously low cpu -rock solid -scream distortion reasons i don't: -don't much care for the sound quality, especially the synths (malstrom can be cool sometimes) -i like to have my vsts/audio unit instruments and audio tracks in same app. -i hate all those wires, and i...

i quite enjoy your remix, thanks. very nice melody. curious, did you pitch shift some of the last syllables in the phrase "i just made you up to hurt myself". anyways, sounds great. the only thing i would say is maybe a couple of the percussive parts may not go together. i like the panning...

looking for a nice master synth?...

i've just been playing with the demo of Rob Papen's new(ish) synth "Blue". The thing's a beauty, some of you may want to check it out: http://www.robpapen.com/synths/blue/ If anyone is familiar with linplug's albino at all (which rob papen co-designed with linplug), it has a similar sound,...

vandeloow, reaktor was completely bug-ridden for me at version 4. but i should tell you, version 5 was extremely stable from the release, they haven't even released an update yet, and there hasn't even been a demand for it on the reaktor forum, because it has been so stable. it's even more efficient...

hi, i use logic pro 7, but not for apple loops. live's looping functions are far superior imho. in logic you've got audio loop or instrument loops. the audio basically follow tempo and you can change it's key. the instrument loops save the channel strip and midi information, like live's clips i beli...

yes, no doubt they have a tendency to release buggy versions, and not fix them for some time. i used to own reaktor session, but was always afraid to actually use it, for fear of crashes or freezing logic. some with kontakt. they have also screwed my orders before. at one point i was trying to decid...

hide track? /search in on-line help?

i've looked around and can't see a way, can you hide a track in live5? (i know you can resize, but fully hide?) i looked in the help. but found nothing. and while i'm on it, about the help, does anyone else with a mac have problems doing a search in the live help manual in preview? i've never had th...

thanks guys, i guess i'll just assign a bunch of keys to the arm button of a bunch of tracks in my default song. oh well. i really think live should have a global key command for arm track though. It's pretty common that you arm the track that you have selected. and a midi track should really just a...

boink..er..bump..

No universal "arm-track" key command for selected track? no preference for a track to automatically be armed on selection?

i guess i'm just waiting for a firm NO for closure.

thanks,

ya, i'm gonna ditch audacity. it's a nice looking little app, but definitely unstable. i just tried out amadeus II, and it's far better anyway. it costs maybe 20$ or so, but it works well with live5 and also it supports audio units and vsts. i think i'll register that one.

cheerio,

Audacity working with Live?

hey folks. is anyone successfully using the audacity audio editor as live 5's external sample editor? i've set it up, but when i open a it through live via the edit button, although the file opens fine in audacity, when i return to live, the program is unusable. nothing will play and time is frozen....

auto arm-track or common key command for it?

alright, well that heading was a tad awkward, but moving on... what i'm wondering is, is there a preference for a midi track to be automatically armed when it is selected? i believe most daws function this way, at least in logic i know its armed as soon as the track is selected, and i'm just very us...
