Re: Fades - How to turn them off?
Nun.. Fades still not being created on files. Tried loading multiple Waves, and butted all start/ends together. Viewed Fade automation lane. Automation lane shows the fade breakpoints (start and end of each Clip), but here is no fade occuring. I manually dragged the fade points on a clip 'Algozee' t...

Re: Fades - How to turn them off?
I think even seeing the 2 red dot breakpoints (start and end of a clip) is a bit confusing sometimes. It has thrown me off a couple times - I still zoom in to triple check things sometimes. Especially in large arrangements with lots of files, mixed Fade states (some with, some without). I should rea...

Re: Fades - How to turn them off?
Just tested. That behavior does not occur here. Preferences: Auto create fades: OFF Drag in new audio file Arrange view - automation lane, view fades. Automation lane does show 2 fade points, one at beginning and one at end of file. But they are completely at the edge of the wave - no fade. There is...

Re: NIN who?
I came to the sad realization that since Trent has pretty much retired NIN, it won't be long until I run into some "kid" at a bar who says "Nine Inch Nails? Never heard of them." :x Followed by "Skrillex is pretty heavy shit." :x :x There's kids in bars right now who t...

Re: Ableton and aftertouch
Aftertouch works here...using Clip Envelopes. Using a Remote25 by Novation. It is recorded as a CC, so is within each Clip. It is editable as such by opening Clip Envelopes and the Midi Cntr as stated above. Dif is, it is not seen directly (in Arrange mode) as it is not an Arrangement Track automati...

Re: Advantage of REX files over regular WAVs for use in Live?
Rex files also print a fadeout unto the sound at the end of each slice.. a very small one, but it is there. Try slicing a pad or sustained sound in Recycle. Then load that Rex into Live, Logic, or anything (but Reason or Dr. Rex). You can then see the fadeout plain as day. There is no setting to dis...

Imho.. I'd rather read a CR rant and be entertained, than listen to a Yacht song and be bored.
Just saying... AD plugs sound good.

Re: any good tutorials on progressive psychedelic trance?
A tip for creating an arrangement structure for a track: #1 - take a song you do like and deconstruct it. Lay it out in Arrangement View, match the tempo of the project to the actual song. Create several blank midi tracks. Now.. play the song and in the blank midi tracks make clips and label them wi...

Re: anyone follow canadian politics?
But I hope you guys come up with something better than this for the one day a year you're given international news coverage. I think last year you got the guy on the bus who jumped another random passenger, stabbed the shit out of him and then decapitated him. That set the bar pretty high. Pretty h...

And can someone please convince the Abes to update the logo on their own site... That low-res jpeg 'ableton' is so pixelated and sad. Fak its depressing.. its like their whole images is screened thru BHD.
