I've searched for a vst or AU solution but i never found anything that good. Slaving a third party application that DOES have a clock via MIDI Clock sync is one, albeit pretty inefficient, way to go.

Yep, that's pretty much it as far as I can tell.

You're maybe better off with a 3rd party sample set for sax.

Embedded media player for Website: recommendations?

Hello all, anyone use a media embedding player on their website? or seen one that's nice? I'm putting together a site for my music and I'm looking for one that is fairly minimal in terms of appearance and ease of use. (push the button and it plays the file embedded within the page). maybe basic volu...

Not sure if you meant it this way, but i was thinking a "random" button for every Live device which "scrambles" all the parameters. Kind of like automat has.

importing video screwy

I've noticed that when i drag a quicktime file of a definite length (say 30sec) into Live's Arrangement it comes up longer, like 30:06 or something.

Also, 16:9 formats end up looking squished. having all sorts of problems with video... Is there some preference menu i'm missing?

Using Live 7.

Nice read Tarekith!

I think there's a typo towards the end of the "Core Elements" section regarding snares:

"A dull snare can often be fixed by boosting some around 2Hz,"

when I think you meant 2kHz.

Otherwise, perfecto!

hey spiral, just got a bitstream and I haven't really gotten that deep into it yet. one wierd thing i found was that using the mackie emulation template on the B3X and the mackie contoller prefs in Live, Ableton didn't even recognize the controller unless the Live application folder was on the deskt...

Don't know if it's already on the list but the renowned Katz's Deli on Houston & Ludlow has the best pastrami you will probably ever eat in your life. I guess you could consider it touristy, but who cares... Order it fatty, not lean because it's delicious, and who are you kidding, you're a fat p...

Rewire with Logic 8 and Live seems to work fine, though I am starting to see why people would want Logic to rewire TO Live now. There's time I'd just want to add some synth fro Logic in a Live project I'm working on. Easy enough to deal with though, I'd just keep the audio files in Live that are al...

So I take that as a yes? Logic plugins ARE crippled to only work in Logic? I wouldn't say crippled is the right word,,, I'm investigating a way of using mainstage as a kinda-sorta Kore and being able to sync it to live on a second mac using a LAN. You would then be able to use the logic instruments...

Do not overwhelm yourself with an overly complicated setup. If you are running the playback cues and mixing the band at the same time, it can get hectic. Because it's a live performance unpredictable things can happen, so you need to stay flexable. Keep it simple. Since it's the same instruments thr...
