Awesome. I like figuring out how to use tools in ways the creators may not have intended.

Anyone else have an 'abuse' tip for Live?

Okay, I am not mr. Evil, but i thought checked out several of your tracks. I especially liked Lost in Translation. Great use of the space, very transparent, good development. Quite enjoyable.

Using dumby clips to modulate Beat Repeat grid

Pretty much what the subject says.. here is an example of how to get some interesting glitchy drums. Using the follow action commands on the dumby track, I can independantly modulate how the effect is applied to the beat on track one. I think the results are quite promissing- you can see how this co...

I am going to have to ditto the general wish of this thread; Groups or at least folder tracks seems like a no-brainer. Especially with the modular like routing of Lives tracks. I love that about Live but track management can quickly get plain rediculous. Reading through many of these very good wish ...

Turn beats into synths

Using the Resonator effect, some empty clips mapped to key notes, I can now play beats as tonal rhythmic synths.

Here's one: 1. Create a rack with 3 chains with an instance of EQ Three in each. 2. Turn on only one EQ Three's Gains in each chain; Low, Mid, and High, respectively (so that only one frequency band is passing through each chain Set the gain to 0 DB by default and the set them to 48 slope rather tha...

Re: Who wants "Glitch" plug for mac? No need with Ableton 6!

Inspired by your rack 3rdorder, here is one of my own. download and check out here: www.aaronjasinski.com/GlitchDrums.zip An added trick- I created a second sub rack, with an 3band EQ set to break up the bass, mid, and highs into 3 channels (chains). Then applied Beat Repeat to just the mids (and g...

I believe I used automat .0.4.2 Ahh, ok, that might explain. you can get it here... I know, but 0.4.2 crashes Live here. Thought this was a common problem, so that everyone would still be using 0.4.1. Hmm, weird. I haven't had any trouble with Automat 0.4.2 on Live 6.0.1 on MacPro and MacBookPro.
