afaik the BBE sonic maximizer doesnt add harmonics, it separates highs and lows to delay the high in a way that makes the bass seem tighter.

if you like the texture maybe it would be cool to have that chain in parallel in a rack, one channel preserving the transients and the other squishing the life out of it... best of both worlds.

I'm guessing you are using multiple channels for the same part with layered sounds/fx, I find it's easier to manage with racks in Live (acting as parallel channels within one channel) For your situtation I think it's more of a workflow thing and you like to have lots of channels because it's nice to...
