go for apc40, the best controller for ableton hands down.
regarding midi-keyboard, check m-audio axiom. i've owned axiom49, and it was pretty good for the price.

Re: EQ Eight Upgrade! with analyzer

not too much into this a i am using 3rd party eq with this feature, but what i desperately need is better mixing summing algorhithm, as mixing 20tracks can sound really different in different DAWs.

Re: PREPARING A LIVE SET
replicate your workflow from regular studio sessions and try to stick to it with some changes here and there to optimize the CPU load. first, i would deffinitely start with audio clips as it is the easiest way to start and once you know the proccess by nature, you can add some synths and stuff if ne...

Re: Villalobos hating on Ableton
who are the wannabes here? i am only scared by the ever growing amount of total shit techno producers out there .. its not techno of any kind when you copy an allready exsisting track or use preset sounds and beats. thats far too easy... and sounds by far too boring.. i am not defending anyone's la...

Re: How do you sidechain more than one sound
depends if you want different settings for different sounds. if yes, then create busses, let say hard ducking, medium ducking and soft ducking and route the sounds accordingly. if you want same settings for all of them, just route them all to a same channel where you SC compressor is. i am usually p...

Re: Plugins
i would better spend it on monitors, or acoustic treatment, That improves your sound much more than package of very pricey Waves plugs, even they are good but you can find very very good freebies as mentioned already.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Akai APC40 Editor for storing nad twidling presets would be veeery nice. Can be done with max4live quite easily, as it was touted when it was released... max4live is the apc's editor.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNBe0hkPQy8 I've got that sort of thing in my device but there are other patches ...

Re: Win7/64 or WinXP + Fireface 400 hows it working for you?
Using my FF400 on WinXP3 desktop, and Win7 Home Premium x64 laptop, Live 7.0.15. It crashes time to time, but as mentioned in previous posts, hard to say what causes the crash. RME support seems to be pretty good. They are tryi ng to solve problems and working releasing drivers time to time. Fair pl...
