old hardcore stuff definitely, particularly early misfits. awful production but amazing songs.
also sebadoh - weed forestin. the unproduction is really part of its charm.

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
A controller does the job but you spend more time getting it to work with Ableton than actually making music. Even the apc didn't meet production needs out the box. We had to wait and hope until someone tore apart the script to make it more functional. That entirely depends on how you make music, f...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
i'm surprised that they've managed to screw up the implementation of indexing and database management so badly. it makes it look like the dev team didn't have any search/database experts on board. probably too busy designing the browser around a piece of hardware that most of us will never use. :ro...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
Amaury: We don't need a 'don't scan this folder' feature. We don't need faster indexing. We need a general "Switch indexing off" feature. As long as this isn't acknowledged by Ableton, everything else doesn't make sense. Right, but as he pointed out, they've 'thrown out the baby with the ...

Re: Browser woes
We're aware of the goals: seeing contents as fast as possible, and not impeding music making by eating up CPU resources. We're looking into that. The solution may or may not be to not index folders. Is that what you're concerned with? As far as this aspect of the browser goes yes, exactly that. I k...

Re: Browser woes
Hi, We hear you. As said in the other thread, we're working on fixing the too long scanning times for folders full of samples and fixing the too high CPU usage the Indexer consumes on OSX. Kind regards, Amaury I still think it's missing the point, any type of scanning will add some amount of time b...

Re: Options.txt from 8.2.6 Binary Mac OS X
It would be helpful if someone with more programming experience looked into it. When looking at it via a Hex editor I replace the 00 bytes between the triggers with the 00 27 hex code for the "em" space i.e. a space. That way when I copy the text I don't have to go 1 by 1 and add a space ...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
a tip for Windows users, semi-off-topic: check out Total Commander, http://www.ghisler.com/ Might be a bit off topic, but a +1 from me! I cant live without Total Commander on pc. I just figured out after years it can even do backup operations as good as any backup app. similarly I use xplorer2. Can...

Re: Options.txt from 8.2.6 Binary Mac OS X
just wondering what strings search are you using to pull these out? I started at the offset for absolutemousemode but they all arent sequential in memory you can just open the binary file in a decent text editor. They're not in alphabetical order though, at least in the Win 32 binary, mainly in rev...

You can find all the options by scanning the Live binary files for text, don't know if that's how they found it, but its one way.dazzer wrote:Maybe a dumb question - how come this option exists but Ableton don't mention it before? who found out about it and how? I need to know these things...

Re: Can anyone explain to me how to the new Live 9 Library works
The folder names you can and can't use seem to be defined in the 'VirtualFolders.cfg' file in the Core Library, mine is here : Not played with it much yet, but have been able to add my own top level folder to the Sounds category. In the xml file I added this : <VirtualFolder Name="MDK" Pa...
