He basically said he doesn't care taking money from evil corporations and turning them into art that he cares about. For example, he took the gobs of money he made for his role in Bad Boys II and completely funded his next book of poetry. No dig against Rollins, but how much does it take to fund a ...

How to convince a generation that has been used to get everything for free to pay for things???? They are willing to pay 2.99 for a 15 second ringtone of a song they won't spend 99 cents to download in it's entirety. People LOVE to spend money when it comes down to it. it's just that downloading st...

the whole western world makes music according to 12 tone equal tempered gregorian temperement, a system adopted around 300 years ago because musicians had no standrard that they could compose/perform under. Not exactly. The 12 tone chromatic system is based on certain physical properties of sound, ...

Also, while many of us who live in Canada think of it as the ugliest big bad city, it's worth saying that many people who come here from other big cities in the world find it quite clean and nice. It's all relative. Vancouver really is insanely beautiful in the summer though. ++ Quite right on both...

I think the thing to do is ultimately practice enough to not require 32nd note quantizing. I suspect that if you can't play a 32nd note pattern with fairly close precision already, the quantize is going to cause more harm than good, putting notes on the wrong 32nd. If you want to do this stuff live ...

It sounds like you need to be running live, not an MPC, and especially not the 5000. recording loops and playing them live is not really what the MPC is all about, nor does it do anything you described very well. The MPC is a workstation, it's great for production, but live it's really only good for...

I use an mbox2 pro as my soundcard, but I get negligible latency even when I don't use any soundcard at all. It also may be that I don't have as much running when I program the drums, but I usually freeze any track that I'm not currently working on anyways, and can easily have several instances of s...
