Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.

I've decided to go back on what I said earlier about the HP Envy - as HP are proving to be a real pain in the arse (no customisation options in the UK, no global warranty (I travel alot so need this), build quality has been questioned a number of times) .. so am going to my local Apple store tomorr...

Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.

Yeh I looked at either the MBP 17 with i7 or the HP Envy 17 with i7. You get more for your cash with the Envy 17 (by a long way) but unless you want to go down the hackintosh route you're stuck with Win7 instead of Snow Leopard. I ended up going with the Envy 17, 8gb + i7-840qm Hope that helps mate

Re: audio to midi?

this might do it mate but dunno if it works ok: http://www.intelliscore.net/

I wanted to do the same for some old 80s dance synth licks so I could remix them but ended up getting scores that people had manually played or playing them myself on my synth

Cheers, Simmo

Re: Can I disable tracks (and all fx) temporarily?

Is there a way of temporarily disabling a track and all associated fx/plugins on that track from the arrangement view (so not muting with the track activator)? Basically I need to save CPU as I'm in the middle of writing a new trance track with a lot of epic plug in chains and the CPU is maxing out...

Re: Have you tried an expresscard firewire adapter?

I use a SIIG expresscard firewire adaptor for my Dell XPS M1330 connected to my RME Fireface 400 which pretty much works well apart from the odd pop and crack. I bought it and moved away from the onboard firewire port because of major audio breakup / asio crashing issues I had - this solved most of ...

Re: Live 8 verses live 7 warping seems very different

I felt the same way at first, but trust me, once you get the hang of it you realise how much better it is 8) funny you say that, I've just been playing around with it and finally I've figured out the "shift trick" and the warping modes. Just managed to warp up an acapella in 5 mins and go...

Re: Live 8 verses live 7 warping seems very different

bit of an old topic but yeh I agree, wish there was a way we could use the old warp method (Live 7's version) as an option in Live 8 so best of both worlds so everyones happy.

Re: Ableton/Hardware & Windows 7

Hi AL_X I'm using Win7 x64 on both my MBP Unibody and Dell M1330 both without any problems. Software I'm currently using: Live 8.0.5 Cubase 5.1 x64 Some archaic version of Albino ABL Trial Massive 1.1.4 Hardware: APC40 Fireface 400 (with SIIG PCIE firewire card as the one in the Dell is rubbish!) Ed...
