Re: master tempo automation can't be @.00 bpm?
I do it sort of like Angstrom, but I just press record and change the tempo value with the arrow keys, then delete some of the points if I want it smooth/continuous.

Re: Collision: Can it synthesize snare- and bassdrum etc...
it's true that acoustic sounding cymbals are hard to synthesize, maybe Applied Acoustics could come up with a decent model of that... but in the meantime I'll use Operator for artificial cymbals and samples of real drums for acoustic sounds.

Re: Collision: Can it synthesize snare- and bassdrum etc...
BTW As the basic physics are already there (and as I understood, Collision does its job quite good), would'nt it be easy for Ableton to build a drumsynth upon these techniques? Between Operator, Collision, Analog and Drum racks... I see no real need for a drum synth. I rather like Live's modular ap...

Re: Collision: Can it synthesize snare- and bassdrum etc...
I decided to try it out for myself and put my money where my mouth is.
Ka'plah! it works pretty nicely for something I did in 2 minutes
Here's my patch:
http://www.holybass.ca/macguffin/kickdrumtest.adv
also, snares are totally doable because of the noise function

Re: Collision: Can it synthesize snare- and bassdrum etc...
Bass drum can be done, since a bass drum is hit by a mallet and you can set the resonator in collision to be a membrane. Will it be the best kick? maybe not, but it's worth a try. Snare is a little bit more tricky because it's not only a membrane but also the snares themselves, but you can do some v...

Re: Realtime detuning on audio track
you could use a free pitch shifting plugin, but that also creates artifacts. Can't you simply detune the oscillators on your synth?

Re: About to spend £1000 - Help me out please - Mac or PC
I'm a PC guy, but if you're going to spend £1000 on a computer you might as well get a Mac. The only reason I got a PC laptop is because I could get something reasonable to perform live sets for $700 (which is something like £350 if I'm not mistaking).

I'm guilty of this, but never for big pieces like you guys. But I can't count how many times I've snuck in rack gear or effect pedals.

Re: Do you like American comics? I've got a question for you!
There are sort of "best of" compilations released in book format by DC but they are not cheap. The problem with the regular comic series is that DC was always changing shit for marketing reasons, that's why it's so confusing now. There are some classic runs in there, but I doubt you will g...

and I stand corrected on the BBE, here's a review of the plugin (should work on the same principles)
