On my Windows machine, Live insists on creating a folder named C:\Users\<my name>\Documents\Ableton\Cloud Manager.

Is there any way to tell it to put that folder somewhere else, such as inside my User Library?

I sold a license a few years ago and IIRC it took a few days to go through. I suspect there's some manual checking involved.

I don't see why not. When you install the second instance, it should tell you that there is already an installation on your machine, and ask whether you want to replace it or install somewhere else.
