Hey man,
Some nice soundscape at the start which I think leads nicely into where the groove starts.
Like the late night/4AM vibe of the track and it's mixed nicely too!

house + dubstep
Started work on a house track, then it sort of slowed down in the middle so thought I'd turn it into dubstep style (or, at least my understanding of the genre :P). It seems to be all the rage these days! Let me know what you think! http://soundcloud.com/noizesurge/the-beginning-of-a-sequential-order

Re: TecGen - Disco Orgasm
I don't know much about the disco genre, but sounds good! Structure is nice and paced so you never tire of listening, and overall a good mix (in that all constituent parts are clear). The only comment I might make on the mix is to add a little bit more punch to the drum layer, with ever so slight mo...

Make exceptionally clear monitors. Not quite Genelec brittle though (from what I remember).NF wrote:Adam
KRK and Dynaudio are two other manufacturers I would look at also. I'm sure they do products around your budget, apologies if not.
In any case I would narrow to 3 and listen to all of them.

Re: How do you make your kicks?
I generally use free pre-recorded samples (I don't have a mic or kit) and "judicious" use of EQ, compression and the drum rack sampler. But it doesn't matter what type of kick it is. It could be from a 'rock kit', but I tweak it so it works in a house track, for example

Live, IMO, is the 'Mac' of DAWs. That is I can just Get Stuff Done.

So similarly, OS X.

Authorisation bug?...
Been working on a new track for the last couple of days, no problems. Then this morning I opened the set as usual and was greeted with the message: "The set contains features that are limited or unavailable in Live 8. Details: The Operator Instrument is unavailable". I downloaded some free...

Re: Launchpad Help.
Yeh, I didn't bother with the Launchpad version at all when I first started with Live. Instead I downloaded latest version of Live and used my Launchpad serial which automatically adjusted the full application to strip out certain features thus making it the 'Launchpad Edition'.

Rewire time signature
I've got a Logic project (v.8 ) with a 3/4 time signature and, rewired to it, is Live. However, whilst the time signature remains intact in Logic, Live is displaying the time signature as 4/4. As a result of this the bar numbers are mismatched (which is proving hard to align my recorded content in e...

Re: Bypass Live/3rd Party device per clip
Thanks kleine.
Had a fiddle around and also a friend of mine also had a stab at getting this to work and we/he did. I'm not sure why such a feature can't be there permanently but I'm just glad I can do what I set out to do. So thanks!

Bypass Live/3rd Party device per clip
I've got a project going and in a couple of clips (that are in the same audio track) I would like them to bypass one or two of the audio devices currently active on that track. Some of the devices have a wet/dry mix which allows me to achieve this, but not all of them do. Is there a way to bypass au...
